I really doubt that the park will bother putting the effort/money into revamping the "attraction" considering they no longer even officially acknowledge it. Thing is, there's still a fair amount of usable equipment there. The LED units that are still working, along with the ETC Ion they've got controlling it; the audio racks and a bunch of other stuff could all be put to use with Luminosity and the other assorted lighting along the main midway. Not to mention all of the new lighting needs that CP will have now that GK's coming to town...
I've heard from a couple of sources that the floats were not planned on being used this year, although the lighting/sound were. The problems started when the control packs for the lighting started to fail in the beginning of the season and it was not in the budget this year to replace them. I'm sure we will see this area be brought back to life in the upcoming seasons.
I hope you are right, I really liked walking through there at night. It felt like you weren't in the park anymore!
I love Cedar Point
This weekend there were more lights on in Starlight than I've seen all year. Not all of them, but way more than last week. Very noticable.
Someone has been reading Point Buzz. Do we have a new member named Theymet? :)
