If I win the lottery, I promise not to quit my job. Although, it may not take very long for me to be fired.
In the immortal words of Socrates, "I drank what?!"
When I was at the coaster solace this past winter Jack Falfas gave his speech and he brought up the issue of lapbars. He told the group that the park had to fight very hard against the state of California to allow lapbars on Xcelerator because the state wanted OTSRs.
Everyone complained about this in 2000 with MF, its NO BIG DEAL. I've been stapled before and it hasn't ruined the ride experince, I can handle a few seconds of pain for a lap on Dragster any day of the week.

"get a job man!"
We have to remember that there are different degrees of stapling. Those of you who think we are whining be thankful you weren't stapled like we have been. I haven't been "nailed" everytime I've been on Dragster but on two occasions it was to the point that it interfered with my ability to concentrate on my ride experience.

thats been the only time ive been ever "scared" on a roller coaster... well when when snake river falls opened i went on it with my aunt and my brother... and me and my brother were real skinny back then and there is only 1 bar per seat, and it stopped at her (she is huge) so me and my bro were forced to hang on for dear life and i thaught i was going to fall out for sure... but i didnt... :)
has anyone else had a similar experience? or was i just hallucinating on the raptor or something?

I don't think some realize here how hard some of us have been stapled. I've ridden dragster 4 times, and 3 times I was not stapled too badly. One of my rides, though, a big black woman STEPPED on my lapbar. I'm really surprised I didn't crush any bones ;) ok it wasn't that hard, but I was in a lot of pain.
Meanwhile I was able to keep a good inch or so from my legs to the lapbar on Xcelerator. The ride ops there were more nazish about me putting the seatbelt thru the strap in my hat and that cellphone that was 'going to fall off' (It was securely hooked to my belt loop, going nowhere)
Anyway, I do believe the stapling is out of hand this year on Dragster. Its fine most of the time, but sometimes theres an op who will really shove or step on the bar and put it down. I made sure to sit on the far side of the train last time I rode - the ride op on the near side was really stapling people in, to the point of painful looks.
When you think about it, your center of gravity during the twists is about chest level. That won't hold you in your seat. You are also in a free-fall with the train (kind of like NASA's "Vomit Commit") the they need to make sure you stay put.
Remember, it only takes one lawsuit over someone getting hurt or killed on a ride to screw up everyone's summer.
