SRF Bridge

Let's not forget the concept art for (ironically) Snake River Falls. It showed a huge mountain as the ride instead of the big metal structure. In reality, oh yeah, no mountain.

All the theming for TTD is there. Just the coaster cars are without the theming. They took off the tires for more seats. I am not sure if the tire flying into the midway had anything to do with them taking them off though. I know if they had used the flames on the back of the cars maintance would be doing alot of work on the track lol. That and i wouldnt want to be behind the car when it goes off lol.

The flames were used on the artistic viewing on the 2003 poster calendar as well as the 2003 park map. In that same picture the train is blasting off into space and the passengers are wearing helmets and space suits. It's an artistic photo, not a photo of the actual ride.

As for the tires falling off the cars, I'm sure that was a pretty major reason for removing them. It was probably easier (and cheaper) to remove them rather than fix the problem.

I think that if you have to say "I don't want to sound rude here" BEFORE you state what you are going to say. obviously it shouldn't be said at all. It's just like saying " No offense" before you are about to say something. If you are afraid that you will, or might offend that person, then why say it? Think about it.

Sure, the tires were the main factor in the whole theme removal but was it really cheaper to redo the back end car of all 6 trains to add those 2 extra seats? Not to mention that they had to shut Dragster down for a few weeks while the cars were being modified.
IMO, I think it would have been alot cheaper and easier to have just fixed the tire problem.

Hmm looking at that side you may be right. Are the back cars the original, just retrofitted with the additional seats? Or are they completely new cars with the 4 seats?

I think it's the same cars just with the modified seats.

In all likelihood, the cars were originally intended to have 4 seats, but were retrofitted with the theming, rather than the other way around. So, when the tires presented a problem, the easiest (and least expensive) option was to simply revert them to their original design.

How was it cheaper to ship them out to have 12 new seats added to them.......that is unless they already had the cars set for the seats in an emergency, like on Kingda Ka's trains.

It's cheaper because the cars were already designed to have seats installed on them. To fix the tire problem would have required time and energy, while simply installing the seats per the design was quick and added capacity to the ride.

Cost does not always equal "actual" dollars.
