SRF Bridge

It appears that the snake river falls bridge is gone. Do they usually take that down in the winter to repair it? I do not think they took it down last year.

What are you looking at? From the Maverick pond cam it looks like it is still there to me.

Why would they take a bridge down for winter? That seems kinda silly.

Also, it took me two seconds to see that its there. Check the pond cam!

It's still there.

It is still there but the pond appears to be drained. Is that just because of construction or a yearly thing?

That pond is cleaned several times a season. It takes less than an hour to drain but about 14 hours to fill up with 4 huge industrial sized hoses. The pond is drained and left empty during the offseason and won't be filled up until a few days before the '07 season begins.

Unlike the creeks around Iron Dragon and Mantis; Snake River Falls is built in a separate pond that can be drained.

If you look closely, it appears that they have begun digging around the heartline roll from within the pond. Perhaps that would be why it is drained... :)

It looks like they moved the station cam to a better angle.

DBCP, it also appears that they have some concrete forms down there. Looks like we are getting at least part of the extensive theming shown in the promo video.

I don't want to sound rude here:

But you're in idiot, David Sagert. It's not so much as a promo video, as a display video. It was done by Keith McVeen, and his videos show what WILL be, not what MIGHT be. So it's there's no question to if we're getting the theming, we are. Neither McVeen, nor Cedar Point, would ever produce a video that lies about it's content.

Only time will tell, but I think you might be the idiot for saying that.

Animations/Concept Art is exactly that. Keith McVeen most likely did the animations last summer (when the foundations were only being poured). During a period of nine months, things change, things are overlooked, and no animation can look just like the real thing (Keith just comes close).

^^ The fact is CP has never been much into theming. Their last attempt (TTD) did not work out all that well. So to say that we may not get every single item shown or depicted in the promo video (which is exactly what it is A PROMOTION For a new ride) is by no way a stretch of the imagination.

To say that what is shown in the video will come to frutation 100% is quite bold speaking that you have absolutly now proof to back it up.

Once again the saying "They said it on the internet so it must be true" statement comes to mind.

Is the pull through over? Sorry if this has been said before but I havent been on here for a long time.

All one has to do is look to Top Thrill Dragster's animation video. The countdown lights don't make the noise that's in the video, there is no longer theming on the back of the trains, etc. I believe there was even a picture somewhere that had a giant flame shooting out of the back of the Dragster train. Did Cedar Point lie about their theming? No, they didn't lie. It's concept art. As in conceptual. Things change, it's what they think it'll look like....not what it will look like.

I've accepted that moments of maturity and/or worth can be few and far between on these boards, but let's at least keep it clean for PB's younger readers and for those of us who don't care to hear profanity or offensive language.
