Special Seats for larger riders?

I know most of the new B & M coasters have special seats in a few rows to accomidate larger/taller riders. Does anyone know if Raptor has this feature? Thanks in advance!

Infortunately, the two B&M's here do not have the special seats. I thought, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, that they have a seatbelt extension on Raptor to accomodate larger riders.

If they have a seatbelt extension on Raptor it's not on the back two rows. :-) I was there in June and the ops had to really squeeze me in. Thankfully it wasn't to painful. ;-)

Does MF have fatboy seats?

No-MF doesnt.....
Ive seen more than my share of people that had to be turned away from riding MF due to their size.
(This was way before they had the "example" seat at the entrance of the queue line)

2000 Millennium Force Laps: 48
2000 Raptor laps: 29

Thanks to fast pass will I ever get to 50 MF laps?

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
Let me preface this with my measurements: 6'5", large build (mostly fat :P), about 45" waist.

Now let me say that even if you're large, MF is worth a shot. The MF seats are pretty good. The seat belt was at its maximum point (The Web site says the seat belts go up to 46") but by sucking in slightly they buckled it just fine. If in doubt, there is a test seat out front. Just remember to pull your feet in...one thing the test seat doesn't take into account is the size of the car compartment. It ends where the pivot for the lap bar is (it helps to see a picture of the car from the side, such as http://www.cedarpoint.com/thrill/millennium/_construction_pics/right_side.jpg), so pull your feet inside of that. The actual ride was tighter than I figured it would be from the test seat, but still comfortable.

Raptor is a different story, as I couldn't even get down into the molded seat, so the harness wouldn't go over me. No, I didn't try the test seat here...that would be my first mistake :) I needed either another two inches of give in the seat, or a big shoehorn :P I probably could have gotten on if I could slide in from the front, but you can't do that because the crotch piece is in the way. My problem was getting my no-give butt past the no-give "arms" of the seat, and unfortunately the seat won. They tried for a minute to get the harness down anyway and finally just gave up and forced me off, the belt coming about three inches short of buckling. If there is such a thing as a belt extension, they didn't offer it to me. Even if I had gotten on, I feel it would have been a very painful ride. Those Raptor seats are hard and have no give whatsoever (like I said, my main problem with getting into it). Based on my own measurements I would say if you're big and tall and over 44" in the waist area, Raptor is a no go.

There are no special seats on Raptor. If there were, I think they would have directed me to them rather than simply denying me the ride.

BTW I'm dieting before I go back in August :) Raptor's my favorite ride...well, okay, MF is now :) But there's nothing wrong with #2 :)

All the other rides I went on were no problem, just tight as I would have expected. I'd hate to see the experiences of someone any larger than me, though....
StephenC: Did you have any problems on Magnum? I appreciate everyone's help! Thanks!
Magnum was fine, but I had to squeeze my legs together to get the inverted-U-shaped lapbar around them. Part of the reason MF was better is because of the I-shaped design of the lapbar, which obviously doesn't make my big fat thighs an issue :) God bless those Intamin cars....

And even after squeezing together, I couldn't get it to come down very far, I had a good inch of room. And I even dared to ride the ejector seat like that...at least I have built-in padding :)
I was also wondering the same thing a little while ago. Unfortunatly, they have started the line where you cannot test to see if you are to big to fit. I was really nervious because I am a big guy. I fit though, thank gawd.

What about Mean Streak? I know that PTC trains are not usually a good mix with we big folk. But I'm down 40 pounds since february...headed for 75 by Thanksgiving...look out IOA, here I come! *G*

LoneStarGator: My boyfriend didn't have any problems on Mean Streak and he is 6'6" with a 48" waist. IOA is great because both Hulk and Dueling Dragons have special seats for larger people. I think they are in the 3rd and 7th rows.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I was at IOA in July 99 and even the larger seats didn't cut it, but that was 5 inches in the waist ago...down to a 46 now, and still dropping...I'll conquer the Hulk and DD when I go home for the holidays! =)

So, does this seat belt extension on Raptor exist or not? I have never seen it.
A 3 year old thread brought back to life......that's probably a record.

No i'm pretty sure there aren't seat belt extensions on raptor. I think they should have them for MF though, its always a tight fit for me
I wish MF would have seatbelt extentions. Two more inches would be fine!

No ride at Cedar Point has 'seatbelt extenders' for the simple reason it is an unsafe practice to use them. The seats are made in that specific fashion for a reason: To hold the max amount of mass possible while STILL BEING SAFE. Seatbelt extenders, usually, are not sold by the initial manufacturers of the ride and have not passed the rigorous testing the regular seats/seatbelts have. For this reason you will not find a seatbelt extender unless you have one of the companies that MADE the ride make the seats bigger to accomodate larger guests. Unfortunately because of this, Cedar Point cannot accomodate every single person on each of their rides.

Way to respond to a thread three years old!

I don't know that I've seen CP use extenders, but a number of B&M's at different parks most certainly do (I've had them in my hand), provided that they still cause the harness to come down a certain number of clicks.

What time does the water show start?

I was just reading because my brother-in-law is coming and I know he fits in the big boy seats at Universal and I was hoping to find a way to get him on Raptor.
The difference between Hulk and Dueling Dragons at IOA and Raptor at Cedar Point the opposite of what most people think. I'm 6'5" and have some difficulty with Raptors restraints since the top of the restraint contacts my shoulder just before the seatbelt clips. I went to IOA march 2003. The regular seatbelts on both rides at IOA are an inch or two shorter than Raptors. I was simply unable to fit in the regular seat. The 'big boy' seats are on 33 and 63 on both rides at IOA denoted by dual seatbelts. I fit the same in the 'big boy' seats as I did Raptors regular seats.

In any case, there must be three out of the eight clicks. The seatbelts on raptor are slightly shorter then of the third click which ensures that the restraint is in the proper position.
