We had our RV set up right across from our family for the weekend who had rented a LHP cottage. Jeff Putz and his wonderful wife steph as well as Mgnum Dan and his wonderful better half Maria was our extended family for the weekend. SO NICE to spend time with people you care about when it comes to good times like these. Our daughter Julia had talked about seeing you guys all week and had so much fun hanging with you 4!! (Jif, Step, Maria, and Daaaan as she so affectionatley calls you guys!) She loves you all! She also talked about Stiv and linsee too.(Steve and Lindsay)! hehe
After we hooked up with our crew we met inside and grabbed some grub before venturing out in quest of Fall fun. All in all we burned some exit passes on some rides, (force, dragster, etc) Same ole same ole in that respect. Took Julia to Boo Hill to get some candy and watch her fly through that maze like her pants were on fire! haha. In addition we just enjoyed the park and enjoyed good conversation. Went and saw Aarons show too..Been better but still good overall..Love the coaster/number trick at start. And loved his assistants..What a couple hotties! ;)
After hours we hung back at the cottages and enjoyed some adult beverages and played some DDR..Well not me but its fun to watch..haha..
Saturday we woke to rain and a very nasty day overall. What a crappy day as those of you were there would agree. We forged on anyways but not before we had a hearty breakfast. Compliments of Chef Sparty we all chowed down to a good ole spread of food prepared by yours truly. Those Grill to go's rock!
Ventured into the park after a break in the rain and checked out dragster but no dice..Nice line but no work..Surprise huh? So we headed over to Force where I burned another pass so a surprisingly long line for so early in the day and rain! From there we did Kiddy Kingdom with Julia, Wicked Twister, Played some DDR in the Arcade and watched Dan win a Family of Halloween Characters playing skeeball. Julia thanks you Uncle Dan! :) Headed o0ver to force for our freeway ride as well
Split later in the Day for Dinner as we all had our own destinations. The wife, kid and I headed into town for some grubb at one of our favorite restauraunts, Cracker Barrell. Just love the sappy country atmosphere. Not to mention the store in front got us ina bit of a Christmas mood too with all the stuff out on display...Good food!
After Dinner we all met back at Red Garter for the 8pm show..I managed to squeeze in a few Force rides before..The show was great. Much the same as last year but the quality and detail to put you in a Haloween mood was great. Kudos Live E..good show and great singing..The Tall muscular Kiss ripoff guy really looked evil..Intiminating..haha
After the show we tried dragster again but still down due to the weather as we still had rainy drizzle. We split up for a bit again as Dana and I headed off with Jeff and Steph towards raptor. Dan and Maria took our daughter to go play in Camp snoopy for a bit. Had one of the fastest and hard rides on Raptor ever. Man that bird of prey runs great in the rain. I swear we hit that brake run at the end at full tilt or well over 50mph..GREAT RIDE....
Hit a few things for the first time this season on the way back to Camp snoopy or earlier in the day..Mantis (good ride actually as trims were off, Iron dragon..runs great in rain too although the diaper needed to be changed..haha). Ventured back to camp Snoopy through a closed fright zone due to slippery conditions. Wouldn't be a good thing for the Point to scare someone in the fog and have them slip..Good call guys! Also noticed warewolf was closing due to the same! I bet the workers in those areas had a good time that night..In essence they were done for the season in that respect..None of that opens Sunday...
Made it back to Camp Snoopy to find a very wet and tired but happy kid. Uncle Dan, Uncle Steve and Aunt Maria had taken her on just about everything. She even weaseled on Red Baron with her tall winter hat..haha..Got to love the Ride prides! Went back for a couple more quick rides on Force before the night ended..Burned a couple more passes I had from earlier in the year
We decided to call it a night as it was after 11 and she could barely keep her eyes open..Went back to the campsite and had a couple before calling it a night. Rainy but fun day! Memorable!!
Woke up Sunday to more of the same rain.Yuk! Headed over to TGIFridays with my daughter for our Favorite PR's annual breakfast. Thanks Mr E for setting this up. Good to see ya always and some of the others. Hooper, Jo, Matt, Tony, Scott, Larry, etc!! Chowed with my daughter and Steve before our last day for the season..Actually last couple hours as we were leaving early.
Dropped off the kid and headed over to Dragster hoping to get one last ride for the season. It was down due to rain so got a few more rides on force while we waited it out. Got back to Dragster to see the rain stop and trains cycling. Was i going to get a ride?? Well after all 6 cylcled and made the hill they finally opened about 11am. Used two freeway passes to get my self and Scott short a front row seat on the first train out..or so we thought..They ended up loading the back train first so in essence I wasted my passes right? Perhaps not!! The first train out made it over the hill with no problems. I thought for sure us on the 2nd would go over too. Then it happened!! First off we got the Black Cherry train which is synonomous for morning roll backs wind or no wind! We loaded in the FRONT seat and looked back to see a full train of us enthusiasts! Myself, Scott Short in the front (shivering tim) as well as Dan, Maria, etc just to name a few. But all seats were filled with enthusiasts..We rolled out to launch position and we all knew we wanted a rollback. With a train full of enthusiasts we had a good shot. As we launched we provided as much air resistance as possible as we built speed and shot up towards the sky. Low and behold we got to the top, stalled for a sec and had the eeriest calm and quiet up there. Then we slowly started rolling backwards!! waaalaaa we had did it..That teaches them for laoding the back train 1st..haha The whole train hooted and hollered as we made it back to launch again! It was a great moment for a Coaster nerd!! ;)
I figured there wasn't a better way or script to end the season on so I called it quits right there!! Front row on closing day on Dragster and a roll back! Call me a taxi, I'm outta here!
Headed back to the campground for a quick teardown and headed home!!
Thanks to a bunch of people..Thanks Bryan and PR dept for a great season and a great start of season with TTD MD! Love you guys and what ya do for us!, Thanks Dan, Maria, Jeff, Steph, Steve, Lindsay for being the people you all are and such good friends..Love you guys too! To the rest of our coaster family, you know who you are! Thanks!
