Space problem SOLVED, parking

There is only one area that is really designated for the employees and that's like the first 10-15 rows right by space sprial/DT area, and the light posts are marked. Other than that the employees can park back in the Soak City lot and along side Gemni, and they also have a small un-marked lot right by Blue Streak.

Yeah, trying to bus all the employees off point on the 4th of July was rediculous. In 01 my boyfriend at the time and I hung out at the main gate and befriended some guests who gave us a ride down the causeway.

Yeah on a busy day like that if a employee would stop me and ask for a ride, Id gladly give him one. It has to be crazy dealing with so many people on the 4th of July.

I've never been to cp on a day with no parking. But I ask this Question Is it worth 8 dollars to park on the day you cant do it. From what I'm reading it is. Is that possible??
You'd have to peel your sticker off, which is next to impossible to get off in one piece. They won't let anyone through the gate if you have the CP employee sticker on your car unless you have the right kind, or a pass that says you can park.

Thanks for the info, so to park in a employee lot you need a sticker. Or to get through the gate without a toll you need that sticker? sounds like they think of everything!
Never say never. A parking deck nearly was built on point but it would not have been for general parking. When Breakers East was built there was some serious consideration of building a single level deck above the existing parking lot to make space.

I wouldn't be surprised if some day a deck was built in the resort area to consolidate parking and make some more space available back there for Soak City Expansion, hotel expansion or some other venture.

Wow - that's what I get for taking the winter off.

I remember the day when Cedar Point didn't have a space problem. ®

The only thing other than CP that Steelers and Browns fans agree on

I would use designated employee areas loosely. Unless it's behind a fence and gate. Guests really can park in what CP tells employee are their parking areas.. It's the courtesy CP lends to their guests.

Honestly, I've never seen a sign in the parking lot that says, the ten rows after this point are for employees only. The traffic crew does start parking guests right next to the front gate, probabaly because of the employee area. Plus to me that would be front row parking. I wouldn't consider parking next to Demon drop and walking back to the front gate, front row.....

The Multiparker idea looks very expensive and doesn't seem practical for a high volume lot like CP has. There would be huge lines waiting for cars, not to mention the extremely angry guests when the conveyor breaks down.

Nice wheels on the VW Golf in the picture though.

After reading this thread several times I finally have a real response ;) Sorry. I think it is a realy cool gadget, but I would hate to see the kind of liability insurance CP would have to take out, to have one of these. After all machines can go FUBAR. I'd hate to think the first time someone retrieves their car, and crunch or plop. It is a machine after all, and can break from time to time.

I'd also hate to think the havoc that would happen when, "We are sorry, the parking lot is down machanical, we are unsure how long the delay will be, but please be patient. Thank you for visiting Cedar Point, we will have you on your way shortly"....

This would still be a neat gagdet to see there, even if it would be just a reservation type garage. That would be the only way I could see CP usng one.

You'd be surprised how difficult that is from a legal standpoint with those houses located right there.. hehehe

Well, I think the fine folks over at Kennywood can sympathize...

And as I've said to Rob on this subject time and time again, stuff gets worked out. Laws change, zoning changes, cash changes hands.
