Thanks for the chuckle...WE NEED A FEW ON THIS BOARD LATELY...

That's too funny. I clicked on it too.

Finally - something on this board worth looking at.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

I stand corrected. Thanks for the reminder Dave. ;)

Calm down Neo, This photo just proves that they are still waiting for an extension cord from Switzerland which is being shipped by boat.

That was great! I needed a good laugh after all this depressing news on TTD :)
No, the problem isn't the extension cord. Well, it is, sort of. See, that outlet has two vertical slots and one round hole, but because the ride comes from Europe it has a big round plug with two round pins on it. It's a simple compatability issue. Plus there's that whole 115v/240v, 60Hz/50Hz problem that they have to work out.

I heard there was another problem, too, because the ride was designed to go 55 m/sec. but Cedar Point is insisting on making it go 120 MPH... :)

I think this ride also needs to be transferred from PAL to NTSC format.

Sorry, guess I couldn't find the whole thing hilarious, my sincere (rolling eyes) apologies....

"What time does the 10 pm laser show start?"

Rideman, I dont get your post. The ride should be designed to make it over the top every 45 seconds or so - what does 120 MPH have to do with it - as long as it exceeds 108 MPH, CP has the coaster speed record..

For those of us that are metrically challenged, could you fill me in - 55 meters per seconds equates to how many MPH.

I would assume 55 meters/sec = 120 MPH. Some people just don't know a joke when they see one.

If idiots could fly planes, this place would be a friggin airport!

I certainly enjoyed the first picture. And Rideman, do you REMEMBER that from your childhood? ;)

DELETED!

If there's one thing this forum needs, it's the ability to post smileys in the topic titles so one can indicate whether topics like this are just a joke and not the real deal.

Cedar Point - where SBNO is not an option (although maintenance doesn't count as such)!

when i was on TTD and it broke down i told them to plug it in but they never listened.
Rideman,

There is a little switch on the back of TTD that converts it from 240V to 120V (I think it might be at the top of the hill). So that should not be the problem, unless they keep plugging it in on the 240V setting and damaging TTD's valves.

Wow, Dave, I'm surprised Intamin didn't just build in a "smart" power supply. Take a look at just about any laptop power brick nowadays -- they're rated for 100-240V, 50/60Hz in. All you need is the right prong, and don't worry about the actual voltage/cycle frequency conversions.

I can see it now -- TDD powered by huge banks of IBM Thinkpad A/C adapters...

Too damn funny Rideman. Thanks again. Anyone who recently saw the movie "Just Married" would get an even bigger laugh out of trying to cram our voltage plug into a European outlet. HA!
