I knew someone would point that out. It's my opinion and I think the theming should have been put back on. Stupid Tires!
You know I rode 9th row once and something told me, and I dont know what, to never ride it again.......ohhh scary!:)

^^ I don't know, if you showed me a picture I could probably figure it out, since I spent 8 years installing and configuring just that type of equipment. :)
But seriously I would love to see a pic of just the amp rack, just to see what they have :D

The first couple of times i went this year, I could hear that beautiful, deep takeoff sound clearly from the Power Tower line. The last two times I went (very recently), I could hardly hear the sound standing on the viewing platform. That is the best sound in the park, and hope they turn it back up.
Also, why don't they fix the words on the christmas tree lights??? During the day, you can't see the words at all, and at night, only "Pre-Stage" is lit up. It's kind of wierd seeing a big black empty box where "Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On" or whatever it says should be. I mean, I know Cedar Point fails miserably when it comes to maintaining their ride theming (ala Disaster Transport), but is it really that hard to change a lightbulb or two???
Hail to the Victors
My one and only ride on TTD was in the 9th row. The line gets shorter and shorter (at the second train in the station) with each row. At the back there was no line. I sat down but I had to get off for mechanical reasons.

When the lightbulb guy gets back around to that side of the park, I'm sure it will be taken care of... :)

As for the Speakers, they are great, the sub is amazing, do not talk down about Community.
I have no choice but to down talk Community, some of their speaker models are ridiculous. Especially those WET boxes on TTD.
The weatherproof PA speakers that they have everywhere else aren't too bad, but those fiberglass "things" are terrible.
I'm an EAW guy at heart, 100%, but I guess I'd take Atlas or Meyer rigs, too. :)
I wont argue, they are not the best, we do have amazing speakers else where, Soundtubes, Technomads, and we got some GREAT Mackie subs, and look out for some great new speakers (im not allowed to say what brand, but you will like them :) )

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Its gonna be pretty hard unless you work in my dept. or some how get on my laptop, because thats the only time you will see it. Sorry, I would love to show you, but as much as your gonna see, is what Tony and Tyler posted on the ride... Really, the button box is all that the park or my boss would allow..
I will say this, its not simple. [Removed by a users request]

OK, I'm going to post this to try and help you out.
I realize that you like your job and feel it's an important one. Please stop trying to make everyone feel inferior to you because you know how the sound system on TTD works. You aren't going to score any brownie points with anyone here because of that. Honestly, noone really cares that much but you.
It would be like me posting on some cable enthusiasts forum (if there is such a thing, God I hope not) that I knew something that they didn't and I can't tell you about it, but i know because I work for the cable company. I'm only posting this to help you out, if you take it any other way, i'm sorry.
Seriously man, stop acting like you're better than everyone else.

Sounds like the amp rack and system set-up at my church. Hopefully the new auditorium my school is getting will have a similar or better set-up than the church. Sure would make the musical go better. Not to mention the new lighting, side stages, and refurbished tech booth. *** Edited 8/14/2006 3:37:16 PM UTC by BlueStreak64*** *** Edited 8/14/2006 9:41:40 PM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Loopy, you're crazy. I, for one, am humbled and in awe of the vast superiority displayed by wwrgsww. In fact, I'm having a T-shirt made as we type. I mean, he's obviously above all of us.
Did you want a sip of my kool aid?

If we're going to start pulling the sound system creds out of our pants, I can start laying it down.
Deja Vu strip clubs in the Detroit area. Yup, those are my specs. EAW boxes and processors, Lab.Gruppen amplifiers, Mackie mixers, Denon DJ CD players and and Audio-Technica mic.
Dreamworld in Bangkok, they got a new outdoor show 2 years ago with weird creatures dancing on boats. They also got an EAW/Lab.Gruppen setup, which was spec'd by my old company and designed in EASE by yours truly.
There are plenty more places that I've put together, and I'd be happy to list them here if you'd like. Like Loopy said, we're not inferior to you, some of us do know our stuff.

I couldn't resist. Sloth is the best.
But anyway, I agree that something needs to be done with the sound system on Dragster. Its no fun without the sounds.

Loopy, could you overreact anymore. For now on, if you know any types of details that a large percentage of us don't know, keep it to yourself, Loopy doesn't like it when people play smart.
Thank you for the info, wwrgsww!

I am not treating you inferior, and would love to show you pictures, but that is my job. I did not wire the system, I can barely fix the system, well I can but its very complicated, and some may know how to wire rides like that, others may not, Im sure you are great at doing what ever it is that you do, but sound is what I do, and with what resources the park has given us, I think we do a GREAT job.

Well, I'm sorry I took it that way. Honestly, I'm in the market for work right now, so if you know of any tech services jobs in sound, feel free to shoot me an IM/e-mail/PM or whatever because I love it and I missit every day.
