Has anyone noticed this year that the sound effects aren't as loud as 2003 and 2004. It seems like the roaring noise has changed a bit. Last time I went I could hardly hear the engine and the sound of it taking off. I wish they would make it louder like in 2003 like the night-time video of Dragster on PointBuzz. What do you guys think? Also, the "Arms Down" is so loud it sounds like a man coughing. I took my friend Hayley two weeks ago and she was like what is that? You can hardly understand it its so loud. *** Edited 8/13/2006 4:14:06 AM UTC by draggy and milly 120 93***
I'm glad it's not as loud... quite frankly it annoyed me being that loud. As for the announcement, it could use a volume shift of a few decibels as well, if you ask me.

Community WET boxes, blech.
I understand what you're saying, "arms down" has always been a little bit harsh, but this year it's exceptionally painful.
I noticed that earlier this week when I went. I was a bit disappointed. I love hearing the "keep arms down, head back, and hold on" boom throughout that area. And its not as much fun sitting there in the train when you can hardly hear the engine noises. It takes away from the fun-factor and effect of the ride.

Yeah, it definatly is loud.:)
Though people need to stop putting their hands all the way up.

^Putting your hands all the way up gets you no where anyway. You get yelled at and you block the faces of the riders behind you from the camera. Putting your arms straight forward is the way to go. :)
The sound effects are part of the what is left of the theming on the ride and I have mixed feeling over the fact that it isn't very loud. I personally enjoyed those nights where you could here the squealing of the tires all the way from MF's queue and the Main Midway. You almost have to be on the train to here the "Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!" announcement along with the revving of the engine that's no longer at the back of the train (I still boycott that 9th row :) ). I never paid attention to the "ARMS DOWN" volume, so I guess that could be a problem.

For the most part, the audio levels are the same, the humidity among other things change how the sound carries, but they are all set at the same level, heck the Idle, Arms Down, and Take off noise are all on the same input on the amps...
As for the Speakers, they are great, the sub is amazing, do not talk down about Community.
Arms down was recorded at a louder level thats why.

lol, calm down wwrgsww. It didn't sound that bad but then I only went for my second and third times this year, and only rode TTD first time (and second :)) the third. I couldn't really hear the engine though part of the time, that I don't like, "Arms Down" really didn't seem too bad to me though.
I've always been able to tell when the train launches over at Iron Dragon/MF before I even looked over to see the tower lights. That sound is just engraved in my brain, haha.

Whats the big deal about letting two more people on each train instead of looking at a fake engine. The 9th row is fine with me
I knew someone would point that out. It's my opinion and I think the theming should have been put back on. Stupid Tires!

But would it not be more difficult to leave it able to spin than to be properly secured, or is that just me? Obviously talking about the tires, that is...
The theming didn't work out for Cedar Point as usual. However what is still there does give the ride a raceway environment. In my opinion the ride is terrific with or without the drag slicks and engine mockup.
You're right, but the theming just made it better. I'm not going to get much more into this. I just really liked the way it looked.

The tires were taken off because they need the extra seats to get more people in the ride. It wasnt due to the tire flying off or anything. They put it back on when it did. When i was at the park in june i heard the sound from the seats. Alot of it could be due to some of the speakers being old and things. Or just not working right.

I have an idea. One of us can jump into the maintenance track area and turn the speaker's volume up :)
