I recently visited the park and my friends and I were curious to what the trumpet fanfare song they use on Cedar Downs is? We were all in band and are very curious.
thanks!
"Call to the Post" (or "First Call")
After "Call to the Post" it is an announcer calling the race. What do you mean by "the whole song"?

Pete and Walt, have either of you been anywhere near Cedar Downs since 2009? The announcer calling the race has been gone for a season and a half now, along with the crappy horn speakers.
The call to the post is still played, then if I remember correctly there is a bell, a cheer, and a downbeat, then the approximately 2:30 trumpet fanfare kicks in. As the ride ends the fanfare runs out and there is horse whinny just as the platform stops.
I recorded a cycle a couple of visits ago, give me a day or so (my computer is perpetually stuck in 2007; compression therefore takes a while. Thanks, Avid!) and I can make that recording available, although the operator does talk over the end of the song.

^This is exactly as I recall the soundtrack to have been on a visit with my daughter about a month ago.

I knew they changed the audio, but I thought that he was asking about the start.
Dave, thanks for the info, I'll have to ride again. Haven't been on the ride since about 2008 or 2009.

You had me momentarily worried that my age was finally catching up to me. :)
I love that song! It reminds me of Cedar Point so much. It's so catchy.

I liked it better when they had an announcer calling the race. I realize it was recorded. But, I think it fit the ride better.

I agree with this. Everytime I ride it now the music irritates me because it just doesn't go together with the ride as I've experienced it all my life. Does anyone know if there was a soundtrack to the ride back when it was at Euclid Beach?
Ugh...how exactly does cheese-metal with midi horns compliment a ride of this vintage? Bring back the announcer recording.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
I rode Cedar Downs yesterday and was ready for the corny song and was surprised to hear the announcer again. Is that new this season?
