Some stuff about hotels

Hello World. When I went to Cedar Point in 2003 I had a blast. My hotel choice was the Mecca Motel and I had to take Greyhound up to Sandusky. I plan on going back to the Point this June, and I am going to use the same routine. But I know a lot has changed since then. So I obviously have questions:

1. Has anyone stayed at the Mecca Motel last summer? If so, do they still offer shuttle service to the Point and to the Greyhound Station?

2. If no, are there any hotels nearby that offer shuttle service?

3. If no shuttles, around how much would a cab cost to get back and forth?

Looking forward to another blast at the Point in 2010.

Never expect good things to happen. Pray for them.

Unfortunately Greyhound Service to Sandusky has since been discontinued. They did this near the end of the season. I drove a co-worker to the Elyria station (rather stop on the side of the road) when we processed out in november.

Checking the greyhound site, they still offer service to Sandusky. I would imagine they suspend service for the winter due to lack of demand.

Not sure about the shuttle service, you'd probably have to call or email the hotel to find out if they still do that. As for the taxi, I want to say they're around $4.50 for a ride, but I'm going off of a fuzzy memory. I've seen the Sandusky taxis a million times, but never paid attention to their rates.

Hello, sorry to bump this old topic, but hey, my trip to the Point is nearly finalized. But I do have two other questions:

1. Does anyone know of any hotels around the area that do offer shuttle service to and from the park?

2. If none, would taking a cab back and forth be wise? It seems to be my last resort but one I will take for the sake of fun. :)

I believe most if not all of the hotels on this page have shuttle service available, although I don't see it mentioned on the website so you should double check. http://www.sanduskyhotels.com/

A cab would be possible too, as there are several cab companies in Sandusky.

Not sure about shuttle service but the Maples motel is a good deal if you can deal with the train noise occasionally. It is also right next to the secondary entrance.
