Sorry, I tried copying and pasting from Word and it obviously didn't work. I typed my message in Word because this website times out before I can type all of my message.
Let me try a condensed version. I am new to this and also I'll be new to CP this year. Basically, I have a choice between ride operations and auditing for food services. Which do you think I should do? Earlier today I did alot of back & forth releasing with my application and now Ive been told food services may no longer be interested. Did my indecisiveness hurt my chance for that? If I do ride operations I won't process in until April 30 and I'm really anxious to start work because I am currently unemployed with no car. What are your thoughts?

Nothing at all Frank, we were all newbies at one point or another. I was just making a joke because the topic was newbie issues and it was a blank post.
Anyway, Rookie. I've had problems with copy and pasting what I want to post, it usually doesn't show up. Second advice, this topic is better suited for the employee lounge thread. It's an area of these boards dedicated to current, past, and future employees to discuss and ask questions.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Would you be the entire food service auditor or a location auditor? just curious cuz i was the foods auditor last year and will probably be returning this year. i can't compare it to rides cuz i never worked them...I don't know when you were planning on starting work but as an auditor you probably wouldn't be returning to till the beginning of the season either because we audit the stands(i dont know what you were told i'm just guessing) if you have any other questions feel free to ask

I've already done that. I called earlier today to speak with food services and try to get a phone interview for auditing. She put me on hold and then came back and said "I'll put your name in the hiring basket, if a manager is interested they will call you." I'm not new to the job game so I took that as "Don't expect a call." So I hung up and called ride operations and did an interview with them. Steve Voorhees hired me right after the interview. I process in on April 30, but I won't know what ride I have been assigned to until I check online here in a few days.
Welcome to rides... but you wont find out here. http://jobs.cedarpoint.com will have your information.

sorry to hear that you gave up on the auditing position--you definetly should not have taken it as don't expect a call the managers are quite busy and depending on what time you called might have just been in a meeting so they gave you the answer they knew too in the office---not trying to be mean(i'm sorry if it sounded that way) have a great season in ride ops :-) you'll have fun at cp no matter the job

Cash Control is a nice job. Air-conditioned, no guests, and wonderful people, but be aware of one factor: they overstaff that place like crazy. It's cheaper and more efficient for them to have a lot of people in for a short time in order to get everything counted as quickly as possible, I think.
This means that you will *probably* not get the hours you think or that they offer you. It'll probably be more on the order of 30-35 hours a week during the busy times, and less during slow periods. The advantage is that, since it's 2nd shift, you can pick up another job in Sandusky or through CP's extra hours program to make up at least some of the difference.
It's still a great job with a lot of responsibility, and the people who work there are fun. Just wanted to drop some advice your way.
