some advice for new employees

Cedar Point has a direct deposit program set up with a local bank. Last year it was with USBank. You can sign up on-point and then your checks will automatically be deposited. This is good if you're going to try and save some money this summer.

As for air conditioning, you can bring one provided you tell them. I think you also have to pay like $0.50 / day to use it, plus an installation fee. I may be wrong on that one though. You can IM me if you have any other questions.

About the banking: Do you have to deposit your whole check or can you deposit a portion of your check and still carry what's left with you?

About air conditioning: That's stupid.

Just go into work with a positive attitude! But be prepared for long hours. You will meet great people and you will have great times. There are days that seem like everything goes wrong, but keep your head up and things will be okay, that is why your supervisors are there. Just remember, you are there to make the guests happy, most likely you will only see them once. Others you will see more than 10 times a month, those returners make your day go better!
Hang out with your crew, do ride nights and have fun!
CP is one of the only jobs I would ever return to. I have great memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Drama is only what YOU make of it! Just smile and have a great time. It is the only job where you can PLAY for FREE!
Direct Deposit is all or nothing.

I think direct deposit is dumb anyways....u should prolly get an account for national city before you get to cedar point because the atms on point are national city, so you won't get charged the fee for taking out money while on point or commons. that's my advice...and def don't cash your check, cuz then you will spend it all on food in the park, which means u will have no paycheck at the end of the day. :-)

Well i can almost garentee that the guests at CP aren't nearly as bad as the ones at Six Flags. I love working at amusement parks, and the drama is anywhere you go. I can't wait to experience my first year at CP, i know it will be a blast!

So is it true that Cedars is the Gay dorm? "Not that there's anything wrong with that..." (To quote Seinfeld). I mean its appealing in that its real close and real cheap, and I really don't mind third world country conditions, but I need to, erm, prepare, for living in a dorm where being straight is the minority.

There is no such thing as "the gay dorm." It does seem however that alot of gay people tend to live there. However, most gay people will not be caught dead sleeping there (it's not really all that nice). Commons, Bayside, Cedars...all will have a very diverse culture. That's the great thing about Cedar Point - you get to meet so many new people and step outside of your "zone".
