Soak City Lot?

MillenniumForceSmurf2008's avatar

Hey Ya'll, I've heard many people talking about being able to park in the soak city lot to be able to get to mavereick quicker. So my question is, how do you get to park in the soak city lot? do you just ask? or do you have to say your going to soak city?

I will be there tuesday June 19th, and i really want to have a short distance to run to get to maverick. I'm no runner so the shorter the distance the better! Thanks for you help!

You just go

I heard there is no parking in the Soak City lot anymore. *wink wink*

When you arrive to the parking toll booths... there is one on the far left that says Soak City and Buses.... go to that one and it will be the easiest to use to get back there. Be careful when driving back there as there is a few stop signs and you can easily get distracted.

Anyone is allowed to park in that lot. Easiest way to do it if you get there in the morning when they are still directing traffic is to go to the main toll booth (the big one furthest to the left). After you pay or show your pass there will be a split just as you leave the booth. Stick to the left and that will put you right on Perimeter Road and you just take that to the lot. If you go through one of the other booths, just put on your left turn signal when you get to the first person directing traffic after tolls and they will wave you to the left. Turn right on Perimeter and follow it back.

Enter the park through the left left toll both and drive around perimeter road. Its that simple.

Everytime I've been to CP I've always parked in the main lot, and I was wondering the same thing as MillenniumForceSmurf2008. (By the way next time choose a shorter user name :) ) If we're going to get answers like the one provided by Mforce3 I guess I'll have to ask the toll booth people. Don't you just stay left after the toll booths and drive around perimeter road?

Next trip: tomorrow!!!

Edit: ok there were like 5 responses during the time I was keying my post! I guess I have my answer.

I always park in that lot. I always come from the causeway (by all of the houses) and when you pull up to the gate you pay the 10 dollars and then you say you want to park in the soak city lot and they will put a piece of paper under your windsheild wiper that says soak city or camper village on it. Then, you drive around perimeter road and come to the hotel breakers gate and you say you are parking in the soak city lot and drive through and on the left will be the lot. As simple as that.

Oh and TerraCoaster, I always tend to have very long usernames/emails, for some reason I hate shortening words, HA!

^Just kidding about the user name :)

See you there this week! I'll be with my wife and two year old.

I think the best parking lot, if you can get a spot, is the small lot right next to Gemini (basically Soak City lot). I parked there on Friday in one of the first spots and then ate the lunch I brought in the grass under a tree in that same lot.

I believe that is actually an Employee Lot.

^Anyone can park there. I've done it several times.

I parked in the Soak City lot on Saturday, and it was the best idea EVER. Small lot, easy to get back to (we had lunch in a cooler in the car) and in the back of the park, so works well for the back-to-front ride strategy.

As others have said, I just went to the left toll both (marked Soak City, amongst other things) and gave them my pass. I pointed left, and asked the guy, "Is that the way to the Soak City lot?" He nodded and put a blue card that said Soak City under my windshield, and off I went.

I loved that it let my young cousins -- first time visitors to the Point -- get a good view of the park on the way in, almost as much as I loved the convenience.

Highly recommended. Thanks much to all who have discussed it on here in past weeks, as I never would have known to try it elsewise.

Indeed anyone can park in the small Gemini lot, I've been doing it for near 10 years now; can't remember the last time I parked in front.

Interesting, I never knew about the little flyers; I remember getting one years ago but none in quite a while. Then again, I didn't know it was neccessary to tell them where I was intending to park, I just paid and went.

If you get to the Hotel Breaker's guard booth you have gone way too far. The Soak City lot is on your left just after you get past Mean Streak, the Gemini lot is on the right a few feet up from there. If you keep going, you will get to the Breaker's guard booth.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

^^ I don't think the flyer is actually required, since many of the cars I saw parked there last weekend did not have them.

I like parking back there a bit better, because I usually start in the back anyways. When I was on my visit last week (and probably my only of the year :'() I had a front row spot, right in front of Ripcord. Also, you don't need the flyer, I stopped at one of the traffic directors and asked to go back there, they happily waved me on. Not a problem at the very least.

I just say im going to soak city when the guy says '' park here'' and they let you go and you just..simply park there..whats the complications in that people?
