So will CP cut prices this summer?

Diana's is a 24 hour restaurant that serves a lot of fried food. Theyare okay, but I prefer Steak & Shake.

is the Thirsty Pony worth going to?

Eh; the "chicken-wing" pizza was good, but I would place Chet and Matt's just a slight notch above. That said, I am only talking about pizza. The Pony has more options. Very good people-watching of you are there later...I would suggest you give it a try at least once. It does beat some of the places near CP, plus the atmosphere is, in a word, unique.

Unfortunately, being a tourist twice a year, we do eat in the park.

We can't pass up Bay Harbor (love that place---believe it or not, the same quality food back home would be slightly more $$$$).

Inside the park, we take advantage of the "free ice water" as much as possible and share the "macho nachos"-----they are definitely a meal!!! We used to go the buffet but it has gone downhill. Gameday Grill isn't too bad.

When we go to Soak City, we bring in a duffel stuffed with towels that hides a soft sided cooler of 6 cans of pop and usually some licorice, pretzels and goldfish.

There is some great dining in the Sandusky area...it just depends if you want to go "out of the way" from Rte 250/Milan Rd.

As far as good places for breakfast, my friends and I personally stop somewhere "before" we head to the park (we're 1 hour away in Toledo), so it gives us enough time to digest. LOL! Or so we can make "emergency potty stops" if we eat @ Bob Evans, Denny's or Cracker Barrel.

^Well next time don't get 6 entrees! ;)

I eat at Panda almost every time I go, and I get a double entree with a side and a water for about $9.50. It's still pretty steep, but it's not god-awful. The McDonald's is very convenient too, however. I have to ask, is the Thirsty Pony worth going to? Every time I think about going, it's after the park closes and the place is just mobbed so I always say "next time.."

Interesting, 9.50 is only like 3 more bucks than normal.

^Or looking at it another way, a mark up of nearly 50%.

^thats better than the 100% at subway.

My girlfriend and I have ate at Thirsty Pony quite a few times. Good chicken wings for a good price. I also drank an entire tall beer and then went back to the park and I didn't barf.

You gotta see these beers....

I could see them drop the prices on Souvenirs and food this year. A lot has changed between last year and 2009. Ohio and Michigan have definitely felt the hit of job losses, layoffs, etc. So I can see them having specials throughout the season if they don't lower the prices. Maybe for the month of July they might lower T-Shirts to $10.00. Food they would maybe only lower that maybe $1.00 if they decided to go that route.

The one thing I found funny from last year was their price change for Dippin Dots (and other stuff). It was $4.79(or something) plus tax for a small. So the total came to $5....which is the price it was before. Can anyone explain this to me because I know there's some kind of reason why they took down the price and added tax. I think I know why, but it's too late at night for me to care at the moment.:)

Is it possible the tax was always there and they just broke it down in the new way?

I'm going out to get some air.

Platinum Passes are 160 vs 150 last year if I am not mistaken.

Prices have already begun to rise.

Do you think the subway will offer the $5 footlongs? ;)

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The 25 dollar Meijer tickets are the lowest I have seen in recent years; so some prices are down.

And yes, I believe they will offer the $5 footlongs. For about $9.

^ 25 dollar tickets at Meijer! That is awesome, that will save my group a bunch of money on our trip this year.

On the food note, I wish they has a Culvers in Sandusky. Have any of you all eaten there before? I like it more than Steak n shake, and you can get a filling meal there for under 4 bucks!

Does Culvers have a website address? I've never heard of them.
