I think that CP should focus on advertisements this summer for price cuts. Now not sure if they are doing this or not, but I think it would be a good idea. I think it would help attendance if they advertised something like "We know you are struggling and we have cut prices on admission, food, etc." It will maybe get people motivated to come out to the park in these tough economic times.
Sounds good to me but remember this is Cedar Fair if anything DK will cut advertising instead of inpark prices (would be nice).

Lol...yea right.
Greed is the way of things these days....not quality or price cuts.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Well now, let's not be too hasty to dismiss the idea of some deals to be had this year. After all, there is a Disney ad on this site that says you get 7 nights for the price of 4 (with tickets). I would not be surprised at all to see CP do some promotions this season that will reduce the price for those who are willing to plan ahead. Expect the spur of the moment visitor or those who don't like to make plans in advance to pay the same as always. They may do some trials runs of reducing food prices on select items to see if the increase in volume makes up for the lower per unit price, but I would be surprised to see an across the board cut on anything unless the early season numbers look lower than projected.
I can see Cedar Fair/Cedar Point cut some of the prices this summer (not much) maybe like a dime or quarter to start then if food sales is kind of slow maybe more price cuts. Cedar Point is not Wal-Mart so don't expect rollback (Except on Dragster of-course) : -)
DK is on a planet of his own (Planet Snoopy)

Seriously it would shock me, if they even managed to keep the prices the same as last year on food. Its never going to happen, ever.
Yea...$3.25 for a 20 oz soda out of the machine? They would lose a lot of money if they dropped the price of that(sarcasm).

It is 3.
You guys have a great reference with my pictures of the food billboards at all the restaurants to compare what food prices are this next summer.
Can you believe that it has been $3 for almost 7 years now?

I think they'll either keep prices the same or raise them, and spend their advertising dollar trying to make it seem like a deal. "Now, only at Cedar Point! One Subway sub for the price of three! Tired of putting a 5 dollar bill in a pop machine and having to carry all that change around all day? Now ya don't have to!"
Thinking about all the prices for everything i have a question for everyone. I have found some good places around sandusky for dinner. like the Sail Inn, Brown Derby and such. Is there anywhere off site for a really good breakfast?

There is also a place accross the street from the Howard Johnson Express on Milan. Forgot the name at the moment but they are open 24hrs. Try the chef's skillet special.

I heard good things about "Diannah"s (probably spelled wrong) on Milan and Friendly's is ok. The McD's on Milan is super quick. I wish there was a Tim Hortons out there!!!!

I miss the Margarita (sp) Bay that used to be on the strip (250) up until 2006. They had excellent fresh perch.
There is every type of food available within 5 minutes of Cedar Point.
I agree with EffenBored up there that if anything food prices will go up like they do every year. Not really affected personally, though, as we never eat a "meal" at the park itself.
Promoter of fog.
I made the mistake of eating at the park last year...$13 for Panda Express w/o a drink.
First rollback=opening weekend '09
^Well next time don't get 6 entrees! ;)
I eat at Panda almost every time I go, and I get a double entree with a side and a water for about $9.50. It's still pretty steep, but it's not god-awful. The McDonald's is very convenient too, however. I have to ask, is the Thirsty Pony worth going to? Every time I think about going, it's after the park closes and the place is just mobbed so I always say "next time.."
