So what's it like working up there?

Does it get old after a while? I mean some of the operators I've seen up there look like they'd rather be anywhere else but where they're sitting. And how do you get to be an operator of one of the cool coasters, like the Raptor? Do you have to work your way up or what?

Its definately fun times. Yeah, some days its same old same old, but they definately can't compare to the fun times that go on. If you have good leadership on your ride, and a good crew, you will all get along great and you will make some of the best friends ever.

Anybody can be an op on any of the coasters. My first summer I was contracted to Disaster Transport, but i asked one of my supervisors if I could cross train at Wicked Twister and the next week, I was training there. I also trained on Raptor, Blue Streak, and Corkscrew that summer. If you don't get assigned to a big coaster, you can always ask to pick up extra hours at other rides.

BUT Remember, the crew makes the ride, not vice versa!

So it's pretty fun then? That's cool, because I want to apply when I'm old enough.

Hey DareDevil, you have a favorite ride you like to run?

I wanna be a part of the TTD crew because they are extremely fast with the loading and unloading and work together really well and make it more fun for the riders. Plus it could never get old hearing the theme song, seeing rollbacks, and getting to test the ride before the guests do each day :)

Working at the park is like no other job on the planet. (Well, except another amusement park) It's a ton of fun, and probably one of the best jobs you could get while in college. You work more hours than any other place would give you, but that is a good thing.

I love when the ride operators on the mics get into their roles. We always listened to hear "Enjoy your day at America's roller coast; ride on!" We esp. loved last year on the Wicked Twister when the guy would say things like "3,2,1.........bu-bye" etc. It just made the day that much more fun.

Is it true the employees play park hide & seek after hours?

The employees have ride nights sometimes. I don't know if they still have that, but I think they have other employee perks.

Of course we have other employee perks :-D.

Its so much fun to work at Cedar Point, like others have said it can get old at times, but you are working at AMERICA'S ROLLER COAST.... How can you not have fun. I worked Wicked Twister most of this past season and it was so much fun to work there.

Also like others have also said, it depends on the crew and Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders that make the ride fun to work or not.

There it is! Now my withdraw pains are easing up ;)

Like others have said, if you have a good TL and ATL and a decent crew, it will probably be the best job you have ever had. My love for CP increased tenfold since I started working there.

Master Chief,

I really enjoyed working on maXair, but I'd have to say I really enjoy running raptor a little better. The last two weeks of the 2005 season I was "substitute TL" over there because thier TL was out for a couple of the weekends. I really enjoyed it because its was more complex than maXair. I'm a really hands on kind of person, and Raptor is very hands on. Dont' get me wrong, I loved maXair, but like I said, Raptor was a little more hands on. If you want to see some of my pictures, or want more specific information, just send me a private message!

If any of you ever worked at Market Place, we always got great service there so, thanks! We leave a big tip to make up for the rude guests that don't tip...we saw alot of them :(

Working there, for me, is one of those things that you have to try out, make the most of, have a lot of fun, and never do it again. It was a lot of work and a lot of drama...working with the same people everyday...people getting promoted to 3rd in charge of rides and other people hating them because they feel they should get the promotion...blah blah blah...

I have formed amazing bonds with my crew. We got ice cream almost every night together. We prayed together at church, we sang together in the control booth, and it never got old. There were people I got sick of and people i couldnt get enough of.

The job itself is what you make of it. It is demanding but if you have fun and look past all of the drama and other bad stuff (sometimes including the higher ups) and keep smiling and saying the jokes and whatnot on mic - it can be fun. If nobody rides the ride...it sucks...as long as you are busy time keeps on going by quickly.

I would give anythign to go back for just one day, maybe just an hour...but i would never go back for an entire season, even though i would have enjoyed being a blue tag on a GREAT ride! :)

I had alot of fun working at CP this summer. Alot of bordem and really really long hours too!! I was behind the scenes in an office though. I haven't decided yet if I'm comming back next year or not...

I worked at CP back in 2003 on the 'Screw Crew. There are times where I truly miss the place, and other times where I wonder why I ever did it (thoughts of that year's Dragster crew comes to mind). 95% of the enjoyment of your job is going to come from who you work with. Also, you need to realize what skills you have and where you'd be best at. For example, if you hate kids you shouldn't work in a kids area. If you don't like going 100% all day, you shouldn't work a coaster.

Oh, and if you like your shoes, you shouldn't work on Corkscrew.
