Snoopy Overkill

Less intense coasters?!? Iron Dragon, Mine Ride and Disaster Transport are intense? Blue Streak is more intense than The Racer? OK.

Cedar Point has plenty of less intense coasters. And the bigger ones don't beat you up.

As for families. I would say that CP, while less pronounced than PKI has just as much to offer but located evenly throughout the park. There are two good sized kiddie areas. Two coasters dedicaed to the smaller types (i know PKI has like three or whatever). And a variety of family shows and areas sprinkled throughout. PKI has little beyond Hanna-Barbara land. And like i said most of bigger coasters are pretty rough. Ad. Express, Breastie and the kiddie coasters are about the only tame ones there. And before you go and get in a huffy about the Racer and Top Gun and whatnot think about what it would be like for someone to ride those rides as their first big step. While not on the par with Beast, MF, SoB and TTD they are still high intensity adult oriented rides.

I would say that the two parks offer much of the same things packaged in different ways.

Reality isn't important here; perception is. If I *think* PKI has more for my kids to do, I'm more likley to want to go there. It doesn't matter that there are a ton of things for kids to do. For example, we stopped off on opening day for four hours, and spent nearly two hours getting re-rides on Peanuts 500 and Woodstock Express. (Both of which are a lot more fun than they look, as it happens.) However, all the radio ads I've heard talk about 120 mph this, and 420 ft that.

This is why I think repackaging the laser show as 'Snoopy's Summer Spectacular' is a great idea; it reminds people that there are things for the kids to do, even if most kids are completely fried by the time 10PM rolls around.
