Small hiring problem

I called CP this afternoon for my phone interview, some girl answered in Park Operations, she told me i couldn't be hired as a ride op unless it would be a 3 month+ contract..... any interpretations or ideas over this?? I have 2 friends with 2 month contracts as ride ops, not to mention people quit all the time at CP, im not seeing how this is possible...

Jeremy, what dates did your friends get hired for?
Most likely if they gave your friends a 2 month contract it was for the last two months of the season, which is when they need the most help on rides because of everyone heading back to school.
If you only want to work there for 2 months during the peak time of the summer, then yes they will tell you no. Because from like the middle/end of June thru the middle/end of August is when the park is fully staffed and the busiest.
Yes people quit all the time but, a majority of the people that quit usually aren't from rides.
I hope this helped answer your question some, if not I'm sure that others will chime in on this topic and offer some more advice.

(I'm sorry for any spelling errors I'm typing this late at night and my eyes are tired ;-)

This late into the hiring processs, rides probably knows that they have X number of positions to hire. They don't want to be in a situation where a great percentage of their employees all leave at the same time, making operations nearly impossible.

That is probably why some got two month contracts while others are not being given that option.

I had problems getting into rides as well, last year as well as this year. However you must be a full rehire to be considered for rides,.I was told to go to Human Resources and ask why I wasn't a full rehire and they told me to talk to my old department.I did know why I wasn't a "Full" because I had to leave early, hence I had school. Foods also said they werent going to hire me again but that was from someone who doesn't work there anymore.

I would be one of the said friends. My dates are from June 4th to August 12th. I believe that JeremyOmega's was something like June 12th to August 16th. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't get hired because it is only a difference of like 4 days of work.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

CP Bound - Rides probably has all of the people it needs for the middle of the season, and can now only hire people who are able to work the earlier and later parts of the season. The earlier you get hired, the easier it is to get the dates you want, but if you apply later, after the majority of the positions have been filled, the longer your availability has to be :o

I received an email today from an Operations Manager... he said i need more availability also, i replied with June 4- August 12... only divine intervention can save me now. I also left Chris Fike and Chris Knauf messages on their machines, along with a guy called Bob, all appealing to pity, lol.
lol...yeah i told him it was probably his later application sending that screwed him over....but...i won't say it...ok i will...told ya so jer...(i'm one of the said friends as well) fyi
