SKYHAWK TEST?!

If SH would get more swings it would top MaxAir.

On the contrary, I think that MaXair is too damn long now. Don't get me wrong, I love a good long flat cycle - it makes a ride worth standing in line for - but Maxair has approached the "Ok, I'm done swinging and spinning at the same time now, you can let me off..." limit.

Both rides were great additions, but Skyhawk is a little to short.

With maXair, I'm not sure if I like the ride more or what the ride did to that area of the park. What was a "gloomy" area of the park received a facelift with new paint and a great new ride.

Dont forget the nice facelift (and relocation) the games recieved.:)

In all I like both Skyhawk and maXair. Though I like SH slightly more with its restraints, but I agree that more cycles are needed.

I was really talking about the whole area by maXair. It looks great and once those trees grow in, it'll look better.

I like them both, Though maXair eould make me vomit first.

I could sleep on maXair its so smooth and soothing.

The ride cycle length is fine. Someone explain to me the ridiculously redundant restraint checking routine. That's the time killer.

Argh! D clips! >:- (

p.s.- Has anyone else noticed that CP changed the ride time on the SH page to one minute?

^More than one minute.

^^But, if they're going to reduce the overall cycle time by eliminating the redundancy, why not simply add that to the ride time? I've never really felt that the line moved too slow (and that would especially be true with a slightly longer ride time).

It originaly said 2 minutes.

How can any of you know that there is enough stored energy in the tanks to make a longer ride cycle?

I just don't understand the redundant restraint checks which are on top of the electronic detection of restraint status. That's three checks, two of which are manual.

It's an assumption, based on the advertised information. And since we have no other contrary information...

Brandon

Yeah, its not like we made up the ride duration of 2-minutes. CP advertised that on their website and their Skyhawk promo material. So, we're just going on information provided to us by the owner of the ride.

My point is that they've ripped out the guts and replaced them. Whatever known mechanical properties there were are now null and void because it's internally not the same ride.

Well, that could also mean it gets up to speed quicker. Which could mean shorter ride time, but more full swings (which I think is what everyone wants).

I do think the redundant checking on Skyhawk isn't needed to the extent that it is used. On maXair it makes a little more sense though, because if each platform op checks 25 restraints each, they're still going to go halfway around the platform and walk the rest of the way back around to get back to their position; whereas with Skyhawk unload could simply check the (looking from the midway) left arm while load checks the right arm.

As for the belts on Skyhawk...are the D-rings supposed to be safer than a normal seat belt? I would think so, but man, they are a real pain to get in that small space. Smaller D-rings would help with that.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I don't know why the d-rings would be any more or less safer than a seatbelt. The belt buckle in my car is meant to keep me (a 260 lb mass) in my seat during a violent collision. I don't see why the clips would have any sort of safety advantage over a buckle.

I don't find the D-rings particularly difficult to deal with. You just have to wait your turn.
