Yep the newest rides were all down today. maXair, Skyhawk, and Dragster was down the entire time I was there too but I was only there until about 2:30.

Screamomatic, no, that would never happen. This is because once the motors turn off, it will never reach its maximum hieght (until the motors are on, obviously). It will just gradually slow down, until it stops. If you think logically, how would a ride swing higher with the motors off, than with the motors on? I'm confused on your thought process. As "Alex Trebek" would say on SNL's Celeb. Jeopardy: "Simply stunning."

Last public train of 2005 on MF!
I don't think he means in this "free swing" case, but rather, in general, when the motors are powering the ride.

Dragster opened up at 2:45.. We got in line and what should of taken us 15 mintues took us 2 hours.
Today was not a good day. Magnum was down until almost noon.
The Force was running 2 trains and was a 1 1/2 hour wait. The line was not even to the first pop machines around 2-ish. We came back around 6 and waited a half hour with 3 trains running.
And I was super bummed about Skyhawk. They already have a sign similar to the TTD closed sign made and right out in front of the gates.
Yes, what a disappointing day. 3 major rides down and when I got in line for Mean Streak, it even went down (temporarily) but everyone got out of line. I saw Dragster running for a while but very slowly. I'm just glad I can go during the week to catch up on what I missed.
Man, the news gets worse and worse. I had a last minute thing happen at work and HAD to miss opening day and tomorrow we'll be there. Hopefully something will be running. ;)

UPDATE: Sorry everyone I misunderstood the posting guidelines of the site for attaching web addresses. This is the first time I have ever had anything to show anyone. So here is the link to the video of Skyhawk in Free Swing:

I think I'm about two rows in front of you in that video.
The part that confuses me is, if that left swing went down, they've said they can operate just one swing at a time. Why wouldn't they do that?
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I saw Dragster operating at noon, noon-30, and 1.

If the brand new ride is broken, they're probably going to want to work on it to fix it without having to worry about one side moving while they're working on the other. That just screams safety issues!!
One good thing to note is that they aren't messing around with Skyhawk today, so they obviously know what the problem is. Seems as if they're waiting on a part.
Hmmm... sounds oddly familiar. ;)

Dragster did run off and on yesterday (Sunday), although every time we walked by the queue was closed, so we didn't bother.
I'm hoping to get a "swing" on Skyhawk next week.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
I wasn't very happy to find out that two of my park favorites were closed yesterday. That really put a damper on the day.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I was just at the park today (Monday). They were extremely slow as you can see on the cams. we waited 20 for the dragster and we waited abous 15 for millenium. walked on everything else. Anyways, to get back on topic. Maxair was testing today and when the ride went to stop, it didn't. It just kept swinging back and forth slowly as it did on opening day. It did not open this morning at all. Whether or not it opened since I do not know, we left the park at 2ish.
Skyhawk was closed and there was no maintenence (sp?) going on. it was abandoned over there. So as said previously it looks as if they are waiting on a part.
On a side note that is not worth starting a topic over. Dick Kinzel was in the park today. He was eating lunch at TGI fridays with John H. We were sitting next to him. WOOHOOO!!

Fox 8 Cleveland just did a story about Skyhawk being Closed. They talked to Robin Innes who said that they had to close the ride Saturday night because of a part that had become a problem, and might cause more problems in the future. To prevent it having downtime at another point in the season, the park decided that they wanted to go ahead and replace the part now. The part is on order and they hope to reopen Skyhawk by the end of the week.
