I was at the park yesterday(July 1st) and as I was going to ride Skyhawk it ended up be closed due to mechanical reasons? Does anyone know the reason this closure ocurred?

I'm not sure, but like you said it was probably a mechanical problem. Maybe a screw was loose. ;)

Maybe they will add more ride time while it's down.

Out of sync majorly, as in almost both going in the same direction, or just a little bit? Them getting just slightly out of sync is somewhat common, especially depending on the weight loads.

From what I saw yesterday it certainly wasn't major, however it was noticable and it seemed to be the same arm becoming behind. It might have gotten worse as the day progressed but I didn't walk by there again after 6.

When I was there on 6/30 we were stuck on Skyhawk with restraint problems. The Ride Op said that the LEDs under our seats were not registering that we were secure. It took maybe 10 minutes, and things were okay. It seemed like they rebooted the ride system or something. Could be related?

Skyhawk is broken down a lot, so I hope they get these problems fixed!

I feel that SH will have alot of issues in the coming years. Don't ask why but it just looks and sounds to complex.

I know I can't back up that statement.

How often do you see Power Tower closed?

Not much...

Considering that Power Tower and Skyhawk both have the same systems. The difference is how the cables are moved in relation to the structure and seating. It's the first year, give it some time. I personally have not seen it closed but the day after opening.

Well I live in Pittsburgh and Kennywood just a got a new ride exactly like Skyhawk, just smaller. And everytime i passd it, either one arm was not working or the whole thing wasn't working. So obviously, these rides are gonna have some trouble early on.

As I understand it, there is very little, if anything, they can do to keep the swings from getting out of sync. Every cycle that I saw yesterday, after two swings they started getting farther and farther out of sync.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
