So I just got hired and does anyone have any tips for shy people? Haha I'm a little shy and a little nervous, but still really excited! Haha help?
I'm also very, very shy and i was hoping to become a lot less shy by the end of the summer. Tips would be awesome
I was my first year too! Only advice I can give you is have an open mind and take every chance you can to be social with people, especially your crew. I find that the people at Cedar Point are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. They will make you feel at home right away!
I was extremely shy my first season. Just try to have fun! Like Ashley said, most of the people at Cedar Point are the friendliest people I've ever met. Enjoy your time, have fun with your crew, don't be afraid to go out, sit with people you don't know at the cafe. By the end of the season, you'll feel a lot more comfortable talking to people you don't know.

2012: Raptor, Sky Ride and Wicked Twister
2013: Co-Team Leader of Sky Ride
2014: Supervisor of Slingshot/Skyscraper
Thanks everyone!! Haha so just wanderin, i know that shoot the rapids gets less hours then the other rides, would they put me on another ride? Jw haha
I'm generally a pretty shy person when I'm around people I don't know. But your crew will quickly become like a second family. My best advice, keep an open mind and try hard to put yourself out there early on. Don't pass up any opportunities for crew dinners/after work hangouts early in the season. Remember, most of your crew will likely be new employees just like you, and they'll all be in the same situation with meeting new people.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Here is the deal. You have asked this question multiple times and people have responded every single time, but obviously they aren't giving you the answer you want. I worked Snake River Falls my first season along with sometime at Shoot so I have some water ride experience. Shoot the Rapids has opened with the rest of the park the last couple of seasons, if that will happen again this season you will find out once you get there. The rides closes an hour before the park but don't worry because you will be sent to work luminosity for that hour so you aren't losing any money. Shoot the Rapid is your ride that is where you are going to be working, obviously this wasn't your first choice, you have made that pretty clear. You have a great leadership team go into it with an open mind and you will have a great season. If you start off disappointed you aren't going to enjoy yourself. you may get the opportunity to work a coaster during weekends but up to that point count on being at Shoot.
And i really am excited to just be working at cedar point! Haha and thanks everyone for the tips! :)
It is always possible to pick up hours if you feel that you need them. But it is too early to be worrying about that we are still months out. Just relax get to know your crew and enjoy the fact that you were offered an opportunity of a lifetime.

Even with Shoot, you're still going to be working 50-60 hours per week, let's be real.
