Short but fun trip Thursday 6-18-09

Hubby and I decided a couple days ago we would head to the Po!nt on a spur of the moment idea. He couldn’t get the day off so I decided I would solo it without him. The ride there was nothing short of gray, damp and miserable. I thought for sure it was going to be rain out, but I had my employee rain gear just in case.

Arrived at park shortly after gates opened and headed right to Raptor (gasp, I know!) I had 15th Anniversary Raptor buttons made for the crew so the 1st thing I did was give them to their TL, John. Raptor was majorly kicking butt, even being so early it was just flying! I purposely wore one of my Diamondback shirts because of op Ben’s CoasterMania jabs against DB. I will be the 1st to admit I cant remember ever wearing a non-CP ride shirt to the Point! Showed Ben the shirt - got a smile! :)

During my next couple rides got to see the crews wearing the buttons! :)
I managed a total of 6 rides before the GP swormed into the park. I knew I had no plans on riding anything else, my goal was to ride Raptor and then simply take in the park, which I did. I walked around trying to find a picture I had never taken before (good luck with that) but did jump on Maggie since it was only a 15 minute wait. I don’t understand why everyone is skipping that ride. Besides it being the 20th anniversary it is such an awesome ride! Despite the trims being on it was still a great ride. The fog and lights in the 3rd tunnel was a nice surprise.
I would still like to see more love towards Maggie by the guests.

I spent the next 3 hours enjoying the park and taking pictures before deciding to head home. I took the Skyride back to Raptor so got to see the Magnum anniversary flowerbed, now I can see it much better! My hopes of sneaking in one more Raptor ride was killed, wait time was 1.25, so didn’t bother.
Heard 3 different guests say after reading the sign “man, it’s an hour and ½ wait!“ WHAT? :(

The 2.75 (that’s 2 hours and 45 minutes to any guests reading this ;)) drive home seemed extra long due to no one to talk to and every idiot driver was on the road and apparently all heading to Columbus too.

Although a very short trip it was my kind of trip, no waiting on long lines, no aggravation, just a great day to ride my Raptor and watch everyone else have a fun day.

Monday I’m getting a Diamondback tattoo. Relax Ben-I’m kidding! ;)
Actually I’m having MaxAir and Skyhawk added to my CP skyline tatt.
I’m excited! :)
KI having a tattoo contest next Saturday and I do plan on entering my CP tatt! :)

Thanks to the Raptor crew for doing such a great job and having such a good time this morning. I was happy to get the buttons made for you, I refuse to let Raptors 15th anniversary to go by without something for you! It is still the best ride in the park, bar none! :)

Next trip should be in the next couple of weeks or so!

Thanks, for the buttons, I promise I will sport mine the rest of the season... even if I cross train elsewhere. how did you like John's speil about that person who has ridden raptor over 2000 times? Btw a diamondback tshirt at cedar point is one thing but a DB tatt would make raptor cry...

It was cool when John did that, the person sitting next to me looked down at my calf as soon as he said that! :)

Raptor wouldnt mind me getting a DB tatt as long as it was some place no one could see it ;)
In my defense at least DB is a B&M - and it is at a CF park too.
I wouldnt get one anyway the logo is creepy as heck!
