I don't mind saying, it's Jen. And you're welcome, Shawn.

I personally like the ride, though Thunder Canyon is still my #1 favorite water ride, but I do like STR, so the news made me happy :)

I'd ship them (but not on STR)

STR would be such a better ride if they just used the same boats as they did on WWL.

i enjoy Shoot the Rapids, but as weird as this may sound to some of you, I hate getting drenched on water rides. Getting soaking wet and then walking around in soaking wet clothes for the rest of the day is just really uncomfortable.

Yeah, I could change into a swimsuit or bring extra clothes, but that's just a hassle in my opinion. I don't remember getting drenched on WWL. The only other water ride I can think of that I have been on where you don't get soaked is Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom.

I love the flume aspect of the ride, I just wish they had some sort of a splash guard or something that kept the water from dumping over the front of the boats.

No, that doesn't sound weird to me! I don't care much for water rides, especially bad ones.

You could use the haystack dryer for five bucks...

On occasion I've gotten a bucket of water in my lap on both Splash Mountain and White Water Landing, RIP. I think it has a lot to do with where you sit, who's in the boat with you, and what the water is doing in the trough at that particular moment.

That is why I *loved* the classic log flume at GL... You got a tiny splash, at worst. My buddy and I used to marathon that, we loved it.

Sadly, they decided to add the geysers for .25, which made it much less enjoyable.

I also prefer water rides that don't exactly get you soaked, just slightly damp is plenty fine with me!

Yeah I hear you on that. However, Shoot the Rapids still doesn't get you that wet compared to Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon. Yes it's not like White Water Landing, but it's comparable because of the layout. I know If your sitting on the left of the boats of Shoot the Rapids, you get drenched more because of the water falls throughout the journey.

Did CP ever come out with an official statement regarding what went wrong last summer? Also, do the seats still lock?

I don't think they will release that information.

Yes, the restraints still lock.

I was actually kind of nervous riding it a few days ago after that incident. I survived though. :)

My son rode it for the first time today and oh great it's his new favorite ride. Rode it 3x in a row but even though their was no line they kept alternating full boats with empty boats, and then boats with two people then an empty boat then a boat with a ton of people than an empty boat. It was a little unsettling as I really don't like the locking mechanism on a water ride.

He also rode the Sky Hawk for the first time and hated it, which is fine by me because I still think about that cable breaking...

It seems like a flume ride should be pretty simple to design in 2014.

Or maybe it's just me.

And that's why the line always moves SO slow! What's the point of sending out empty boats anyways when there is clearly a line?

That's what was unsettling... in my mind they were running empty boats in case of another roll back... I'm sure that's not the case but without an explanation about the "fix" I have no idea what the real reason is.

I was there yesterday and the boats were just floating everywhere in the water. What the heck is happening with this ride? On of the boats had a lot of spider webs on it. The water was dirty, and it looked like it didn't run for a while. Does anyone know what is going on?
