Shoot the Rapids?

Anybody notice in the Rougarou animation that you can see Shoot the Rapids? I thought I'd point that out in this topic. :)

And if it wasnt? Would you be pointing out that it isn't?! ;)

I probably would. I'm pointing it out because Cedar Point isn't getting rid of Shoot the Rapids yet despite what happened in 2013. Looks like it will be around in 2015. Every year that they keep that ride around, I'll be happy! :)

I know Shoot the Rapids is done for the season, but they should have kept the water in it so people can stop and look at it like me.

Only you would do that.

They should have left the water in Thuder Canyon too ;)

Legal dept worries about people falling in during the season as it is. If they aren't using it, they aren't going to fill it.

That would certainly reverse much of the neutering that Cornstalkers has endured over the years.

So Shoot the Rapids is celebrating 5 years, isn't that great? Anyway though, with the winter months being harsh on us, does that drastically effect the pipeline that Shoot the Rapids uses?

The harsh winter should have little effect on the ride assuming it was put away properly, with the pipes and pumps drained and possibly even removed from the ride. It's not all that different from a swimming pool.

With the closures and delayed opening, I don't think it gets to celebrate five years.

I respectively disagree. Shoot the Rapids is Awesome!

But, who celebrates something 5 years old anyway? That's not a meaningful anniversary.

It's celebrating 5 years of not having been removed. :D

Well right, the true 5 year anniversary will be sometime in June or so when it'll be 5 years from when everyone realized they've made a terrible mistake.

Cedar Point isn't usually quick to remove rides. Look how long DT and Mantis lasted. And Mean Streak is still standing and that's nearly a walk-on every time I go, even on somewhat busy days on top of that everyone complains about that ride.

What's wrong with Shoot the Rapids? I think it's a fun little ride!

I'm aware of the 2013 incident and the construction issues, but... As an actual ride? I'm not a huge fan of water rides but STR is better than most!

I've always felt Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon were pretty pointless. At least STR is interesting...
