Shame on you, Rideman, for not pairing up with the guy in 1-2. ;)
Seeing empty seats on trains (especially on Magnum) irk me for some reason. Personally, I think it reflects poorly on the crew. Of course, sometimes it's not possible to fill every empty seat, but when there are multiple seats empty on a train it seems like a waste.
One reason that lines move so quickly at Cedar Point is because every crew makes the effort to fill every seat every time.
I haven't seen such an attention to filling all the seats at any other park. Does anyone else notice the efforts made anywhere but CP?

When I am in a group with an odd number of people and we ride Raptor, I always split off and wait by myself in for the 2nd row and let people go in front of me until there is an empty seat for the front row. One time I was doing this and it was so crowded that no one realized that the 2nd row line was empty except for me. The ride-ops looked at me funny and sent a train out with the whole 2nd row empty!

I haven't noticed them pairing up people at any park other than CP. Also, I agree that station flooding sucks, especially on TTD. Though since Magnum has such an odd shaped station, most people do not line up for the middle and last row on the first car since the line for the first row makes a large crowd in that area. This means if you squeeze through a little bit, you can ride in one of the other rows in the first car with only a 1-2 train wait.

PKI also makes no effort to stop the stations from being flooded with people. As far as I've seen, there is never an employee to let a certain number of people in. While all the stations can get bad at PKI, Face/Off and SOB can get horrible, so much so that the waits are probably longer than they should be. Don't get me wrong, I love the park, but I think this is something that CP does that PKI should pick up on.
Raptor and Dragster are bad. But the worst I've ever seen is Dueling Dragons at IOA. There was 7 trains in that station. It was a racer with two complete seperate staions and there was 7 trains in. I think some parks do that to keep the lines looking short. And if you look closely at some wait signs (not at CP) it says time to enter the station. If I remember correctly this happened at Disney World.
When ever I go to CedarPoint usually in late July or early August Magnum's station has about a three to five foot walkway behind the lines which means long lines in the station. I think the signs don't but should count the time you might spend in the station depending on the ride. Cedar Point does a great job of maintaining station line length on some rides.I think every station should only let in enough people to fill two or three trains at a time.
It's too hard to get people so that we can pack trains on Magnum if we don't pack the platform. Wouldn't you rather have a ride run close to capacity and have the station a little crowded than have a ride that lets rows and rows of single seats go out every train? **cough**Raptor**cough**
Back in the day when Magnum was the tallest ride, the station was always packed.

It's very annoying getting into the station trying to line up to get on the same train as the rest of your group. You constantly have people wanting you to go ahead of them. TTD limits it down to about three or four train full of people all the time, works good I think. MF's and WT's system works the best. The line goes quicker and you don't have to be crowded. Mean Streak's station is very small so when that station crowds you're shoulder to shoulder with people, I hate that.

Notice that's the lead car of the blue train. That's the train that had some unspecified mechanical problem with the back axle of the lead car for much of the season. if it hadn't been for that I would probably have been in 1-3 instead of 2-1!
Also, most of the days I was up there, there wasn't much wait for Magnum anyway. I have a pretty good knack for visiting on slow days.

At WDW the times posted are the expected wait until entering the preshow room for rides that have preshows or the station for rides that do not.
It just happens that the rides that don't have preshows don't have much wait in the station. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and BTTMR all come to mind there- although with Space Mountain... where does the "station wait" really start? Is it when you pick a track? Is it when you enter the row queues?
