The night started ominously as we arrived around 5:45p.m. with DARK clouds moving in from the south. As I looked at the sky I remembered a phone conversation I had just had with "someone" from this site who wasn't coming to the park because "it's going to rain". (wus). Anyhow as we stood looking at the sky we notice THE Man (D. Kinzel) himself right next to us doing the same thing. Striking up a conversation I said , Well we will see some good shows when it rains." He replied,"You'll have a great night , it's not going to rain" We chuckled, and went into the park expecting to be rained upon any minute.
Finally, well over 4 hours later, it did start to rain (MF in a drizzle is mighty painful, but still a great ride)..and right around 11 the skies finally poured down the rain making the trip home a little longer but Mr. K was right, it was a great evening in the park.
TTD was running SIX, yes I said SIX trains and moved the line quite quickly. This was my tenth ride and each one seems better. A number of peolpe in our group hadn't been to CP yet this season (what a crime) and they were completely blown away by TTD.
Magnum was a two train wait and I mentioned to Pete, "I had Jeff's 20 with me" B. (from this board who ALWAYS seems to end up meeting our group at the park) how much darker the ride was. With NO lights on at Soak CIty it was back to the first few seasons when you would fall off the first hill and shoot out into darkness. Made a great ride even better.
The FRIGHT ZONE was in full gory glory. The "lack of fog" comment from last week could not be made about last night as the fog was soo thick at times in the Zone you could not see your hand in front of your own face. The "Monsters" were doing a great job of jumping out of the darkness and delivering a good scare.
All in all it truly was a great evening, (how could I ever doubt Mr. K;)). Ran into a few GTTPers including Raptor Jo, and Tony (congrats on your 500th MF ride) along with Pete.
Once again CP has delivered an OUTSTANDING event and I encourage everyone to get there ASAP. It is truly worth the trip. (Don't believe me? Hopefully the 8 people from ATLANTA, who drove 12 hours Friday to be at the Point that we met in the TTD line will put their comments out here. (I gave them the url). They were completly blown away by CP and how well the Halloween "stuff" looked and the attractions added.
Well, if your still reading here, I hope you understand what a great time we had. I wish we could head back tomorrow but we must wait till next week-end (GO BROWNS:)).
Jeff, sorry you missed us and your $20;) I BOUGHT the round at the Red Garter so Pete STILL has the $20 but he was headed to Put-in-Bay Saturday AM so I bet by noon that twenty is GONE.
Congrats CP, you have done it again.

What did you think of the Red Garter show this Halloweekends season?
------------------
June 11th, 2001 - Gemini 100
VertiGo Rides - 82
what were the crowds like on that friday incidently as I'm going on a Friday and a Saturday(not looking forward to the Saturday) but know that Friday should be good for short queues at least.
did you try any of the mazes???If so what were they like??
This is ANOTHER example of CP ramping it up for the Halloweekends.
Be sure to stop by, have a cold one and enjoy this show.
And, to Paul, No we didn't try any of the "mazes" (I assume you are asking about the Haunted Houses and Werewolf Canyon) but there are other reviews on this site about those attractions.
