Sept. 16.-Short Trip

The original plan was to get to Cedar Point at around 2:00pm, hit a few rides, watch the new parade, hit a few more rides, and head home-a short day.

Well, I had time to kill when I woke up and suprised the family. We decided to throw in a trip to the Toledo Zoo from 10:00am to Noon, then head to CP. We have never attempted a two park trip before.

It worked out great, the weather was cool in the morning, we saw what we wanted at the zoo, and the family actually slept in the car on the way to CP.

We would have gotten there around 1:30pm ahead of schedule, but we got caught by a train near Tiffin Rd. The train stopped, and everyone started driving down a side road, So...we followed, now I have a new way to get to Cedar Point from there. Yea!

No one was in the park today. We walked on almost all the rides, Demon Drop, Raptor, Disaster Transport, Troika, Wicked Twister, Scrambler, Matterhorn, Corkscrew, then did some shopping and waited for the Parade.

I thought the parade was kind of short, but the family loved it. The floats were better than I expected, and it looked like everyone, in the crowd, and in the parade was having a great time.

Then we walked on Iron Dragon, Mantis, and headed to the back of the park where Maverick had about a 40 minute wait, so we passed on that and saw the magic of Chris Lynn instead, he is hilarious.

We then walked onto Mean Streak, and it was running so slow that it felt like it wasn't going to make it over any hills. It crawled today, the brake on the 1st hill was on Hard.

The longest wait of the day was the Mine Ride, they had only one car running, and we had to wait 2 cars.

Everyone was getting hungry and tired, but we still hit Skyhawk, walk-on, and the Cadilac Cars, and Cedar Downs.

Then we went home.

It was a wonderful short trip - long day

Are Sundays usually not crowded during Halloweekends?

It has been my experience that Sundays aren't as crowded during Halloweekends, but they don't have any night time scare area's because they close at 8pm.

Plus any day can be crowded, no one can really predict the crowds.

Every Sunday that I went was either not crowded or the crowd was moderate and wait times were short except for the big ones. I think the sunday before Columbus Day is usually the most crowded (many kids with no school monday), but I agree, one never knows, crowds happen all the time when I predict they won't be so bad.

Today TTD and MF were 1/2 hour or less and the rest were walk ons or less than 1/4 hour. We did early entry with our JCC pass and rode millie 6x by 10:30, it was awesome. Maverick was the longest line so we didn't bother with it. We loved the parade, the Chris Lynn show, Midway monsters and of course all the rides. I give this day an 11, made up for that memorial day sunday and the huge crowds and wait times! :)

^When we got in early on Saturday, we headed to Maverick and it wasn't open. So we went to MF and it wasn't open either. Aren't you supposed to be let in early to ride? They didnt even let people in the line.

I heard Maverick was down all of Saturday. It was down for early entry today, so was Raptor. Both were up and running later. I think that Skyhawk and MF were the only early entry rides running today at 9am. I rode Raptor once, a walk on later in the day, but never made it to Maverick.

Oh ok i just didnt know if that's how its supposed to work or what. But I did get to ride TTD around 11:30 and got out when the park opened at 12, which was longer than Friday night which was a 5 minute wait.

Dragster was also early entry today. I was on the first train and got another rollback :) (Sorry Adam)

Not sure when Maverick finally opened, I rode it around 3pm.

Damn! TTD was early entry today? We never thought to look to see if it was running until closer to 10am. My wife and son ran over after our MF runs and TTD went down for a short time. I rode later using parent swap. Congrats on the rollback, I have only had one and my wife and son came real close today, TTD crawled real slow at the top, but went over regardless of my son's chanting "rollback". :( It was a great coaster day today!!! :)

Friday was still the best day. Got on Millennium 7 times before 6PM thanks to Early Entry for staying at the resorts. We also did not have to walk all the way around for another ride, they opened the gate up on the exit ramp and just let us go right back into the loading station since there was no line at all.

That's cool, 7x? Damn again! Good for you, hope you had fun!!! :) We did the same "quick entry" last sunday but for only for our 1st 3 rides, it was a blast. I can't get enough of this kinda fun, especially fun times with others!!!

I was there today and I didn't have wait for anything except Maverick. And that was only 35 minutes. It was an awesome day today.

i also went yesterday and it was fantastic up there. the weather was great and not too many people around. while riding demon drop, i guessed the parking lot was 25% full, if that. sunday is always my day to go during the fall. there is no way i'd go on a saturday. i'm not interested in all the fright zone, faire and carnevil stuff. i just want to ride, plain and simple.

That particular Sunday, the second Sunday in October, is also Canadian Thanksgiving, a major holiday with the Monday off. Lots of Canucks here that weekend!

I thought the first sunday in october was most crowded, for columbus day and all that. That whole first weekend is very packed, in fact. Hence the longer hours for that day.

I think both Columbus Day and Canadian Thanksgiving are on Oct. 8 this year. They're almost always the same day.
