Seat Auction!

why not. its tax deductabile too....

Wrong. You are receiving something in exchange for your donation, therefore it is NOT tax deductible.

I know that the top price for A seat on Millennium Force went for $2,000.00 and the top seat on Wicked Twister went for $700.00. I got on both with bids of $168.00 and $166.00 respectivily. It seems that the more bids that they get the more trains they will add. They had three trains for both MF and Wicked Twister and I know that money is only good for one ride and that being the first "official" ride on opening day.

Is it just me, or do I see these seats going for a minimum of $800? I can easily imagine a front seat first ride going for $5,000.00 All it takes is a rich guy/gal that loves rollercoasters, and doesn't mind giving for a good cause.

It is tax deductable, less park admission. Go to thrillseeker.cc, click on VIP information and read the 2nd to last bullet point.
Is the auction for TTD seats done through ebay, or is it some kind of auction that Cedar Point holds?
Justin,

This auction is through Cedar Point and the Firelands chapter of the American Red Cross. This has nothing to do with e-bay. If you watch CP's web site starting in mid April, would be my guess, then they will have A link to the auction site when it starts.

Considering there are 6 trains, I would assume there will be 96 seats available, including 6 front seat rides.

6 front ride seats=12 lucky people!

Wow, that's a lot of money guys! How about just working at the park, and starting for training week, the week before the park opens. I'm sure you'd get to test ride it then. I have friends who rode WT last year before the park opened. Then, after you have ridden it before, yes before the people who just paid $5000, you can quit your cp job and resume your normal life. In theory it would only require taking a week's vacation from your normal job, which would probably be less than a $5000 loss.

I know! It's just a silly idea, but in theory it's a cute idea.

Doing some simple math, and using a calculator, I figured it out. Actually I had my math final today.

Maybe Jeff or one of the other people here who have attended a media day event would be able to answer exactly how one is invited to media day. I do remember seeing MF's on CNN and it looked pretty crazy. I actually work for a small town newspaper, and while I shouldn't get my hopes up, one can dream.
