Seat Auction!

I have a coupel questions about the auctioning for seats (if they do it)

1. If someone made a bid for a seat and got it are they allowed to bring another person to watch, not to ride though?

2.Dose CP let the people who won the auction ride it for a while or only once or twice?

3. Whats a good bid? One that whould make it to the media day but not like crazly priced!

Wha wha wha wha?

I'm lost here....

1. I'm sure they could bring a guest along to watch, I'm not positive though.

2. Probably once.

3. Wicked Twister bids started @ $75 and then the highest bidder got to choose their seat, then the second highest...It will probably be similar here.

Next time, try English. It might help.

Here's the limited help I can give you about the auctioning of seats for the "first" ride on opening day.

*The proceeds benifit the Firelands chapter of the Red Cross.

*Rides normally take place on opening day, not media day.

*I believe the highest costing seat on Millennium Force was over $500 (if not more). This isn't something $15 is going to get you into.

Yeah that sounds correct maybe even a little higher. I didn't pay much attention to the WT seats, but i'm sure someone knows the price of those.

I think that the idea of the auction is great. It's for a good cause. I just wish that the first rides would be on media day instead of opening day. Many people have been on the ride prior to opening day. At a grand a seat, for previous top bids, I think that it's only fair to be one of the first of the GP to ride (rather than the day after a company picnic.)

Knotts had an auction organized by the GM's wife. The top bidder paid $1 per foot of track, so a total of $2202. Thats a lot of money for 26 seconds. The lowest bidder just paid $100, but they were probably the first person to bid (bids started at this). $10,500 was raised. They had 38 seats availabe (2 were used for the camera setup), and the winner got to pick the 1st official train (purple). I wonder if TTD will auction seats for all 6 trains, like knotts did. That would give the red cross a lot of money. They got quite a few rerides by getting a VIP pass for the media's ride time (so they rode with them).

Is their anyway to get to go to media day?
Besides know someone and work and the Plain Dealer, not really.

The top bid (that actually counted) for Wicked Twister ended up being somewhere in the neighborhood of $750.

And you can bring someone along to watch. Successfully bidding gets you into the park as part of the bid. The person accompanying you will have to pay for their own ticket to get in with you.

In the past, a successful bid has only entitled the person to a single ride. It will likely be the same way this time as well... but one can hope. *crosses fingers*

Looking forward to bidding on Top Thrill Dragster

Actually, Mole, many members of the media are invited, not just the plain dealer, as you so smartly put it...

Not necessarily. He might have a lot of extra cash. His idea of a bid thats not "crazy priced" could be a whole lot different than yours. Chances are though, you are right. :)

I would be willing to bet that the last seat will be higher priced then WT's.
I think Crazly Priced is over 2G

Maybe someone will be 2800, following in the footsteps of that xcelerator bidder. if you have money to blow, why not. its tax deductabile too....
I plan on bidding at least 600 for a seat.

Finally an annoucment.
Having it on media day would be kind of tough though...there is usually a camera mounted on the front of one of the trains, and frequent pauses between dispatches to change reporters,,,, Millennium Force's media day was pretty big crowd-wise. I think taking care of media is #1 priority on that day.
