Seasons Greetings!!

Keep that "sin tax" thing quiet! I don't want any of those goons that run the city of Pittsburgh to get any ideas on how to pay for the 2 new stadiums!!!

My theory on Y2K:

1. The electricity will go out. Every moron on the planet will check their electronic gadgets all at the same time causing a power shortage.

2. There will be no running water. Every moron on the planet will check it at the same time causing the water pressure to go down to nothing.

3. You will not get any money out of the ATM. Every moron will have done this as well causing the machine to run out of cash.

4....the rest you get the drift.

To put it in better terms, the Y2K problem will be caused by human stupidity and not computers. What even more sick is that there is a lot of companies and people making a fortune off of this so called problem.

I think more likely than those is
5. Every moron on the planet will pick up their phone, checking for a dial tone.
The phone company has already stated that they can't create that many dial tones at once, and to expect some failures

Neil - I think that you should be proud to do your part to help build the new stadiums. I was very much in favor of the extra taxes in the 10-county area to help pay for those.

Of course, if I still lived back in Belle Vernon I might think differently, but here in Harrisburg, we're WAY outside that 10-county area.

Still waiting to hear where my season tix are going to be in the new Steelers stadium...

I see your point, but I really don't think there was anything wrong with 3 Rivers (except it was not really suitable for baseball.) Now don't get me wrong, I'm excited about all the new developments around Pittsburgh! We just needed to keep up with Cleveland and the "backyard brawl" thing.

Now that we went way off topic...

Back to the regularly scheduled thread!
