I know this isnt much about CP, but I wanted to wish everyone here at CP Place, a very Merry Christmas, and a safe and joyous New Year! May Santa stuff everyones stocking with a CP pass!! Just for the heck of it, what does everyone have planned to ring in the New Year?? I and my husband might go to the in-laws to celebrate New Years on the Vegas Strip, but not sure what to do in case of any Y2K problems. Anyone else care to share?? Have a great holiday everyone! :)

*Y2K=hype (so don't worry)
*Magnum is not sinking.
*CP does not have a space problem
and...
*DT is not going to be removed.
*Did I forget anything else that is grossly overstated?
Happy Holidays everyone!

At the dawn of the new millennium they all bowed down to CP realizing they lost the war.
How is that what you have planned for New Years?? :) Or are those your Christmas Wishes? lol :)

I will personally be very glad when this damn holiday is over. I work night crew in a supermarket and between Thanksgiving and now I've worked an average of almost 70 hours a week with next week being the real killer. Most people are especially rude and cranky who shop there now, and you get yelled at if you run out of something or they can't get they're free turkey or ham because the idiots wait until Thanksgiving Eve or Christmas Eve and then fall over in shock when you tell them "we're out". I've had my fill of snotty, pushy people wanting something for nothing all the time, bratty, screaming, uncontrollable 3 year old monsters, and being worked to death by bastards who don't appreciate it and wonder why you ask for a day off. THIS SEASON SUCKS!!! I don't mean to be a buzzkill- I would probably like the Holidays a lot more if I didn't work in a supermarket. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Everyone have a great holiday and remember if you go into a store, try to be as understanding as possible and kind to the people who work there. They are doing they're best under very trying circumstances.
Thanks,
Dave
I too hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a great Y2K (if the world doesn't come to an end! LOL) No special plans-kiddies getting everything they asked for from Santa-I already got my season pass so that's out. I volunteered to work Christmas Day noon-4pm (double time and 1/2 or spend that time @ boyfriends parents house)
I couldnt help but notice Dave OBriens thread & although I dont work directly with the public-try this one-my center is located on top of Sears in a mall-that mall is on one of the busiest shopping "strips" in Columbus. (Not as wide or exciting as Milan Road-but stores galore) EVERY person who cant drive comes out now-it takes 25 minutes to get 1/2 mile to get to I-70 now-instead of the usual 3 minutes. The mall is packed-the people are rude and NASTY. Thankfully I only have to deal with them in the phone-but can truly understand how Dave can feel like such a grinch. The TRUE meaning of Christmas is LONG gone-which is a real shame and unfortunitely a real strain for most of us trying to fill that list for all.
I for one cant wait for it to be OVER-
better yet I wish it was April....or May.....
Have a great holiday everyone!
May Santa fill your every wish!!!

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
the people in the restaurant where i work are also nasty...they book these parties for 60 and then show up with 100 people instead. then they wonder why it takes 10 minutes to get a drink...because their party was only staffed for 60!!! people who normally don't go out to eat are coming out to eat and when they order something without asking what it is and end up not liking it or don't listen about how long it takes to cook then complain when it's not in front of them in five minutes...RRRGGGHHHH!!! it's ALL my fault, because I'M the waitress...yeah i take the order, i cook it, i make it so you won't like it, i make it take forever to cook. riiiggghhhtttt. i used to like Christmas and the older i get, the less i like it. as for New Years(staying on topic) i will probably have to work that night. last year there were people there until 7 A.M. who were STILL drinking. and if they happen to be at YOUR table, you are stuck there with them. so i will ring in the New Year away from my loved ones and with the booze hounds...."Southern Comfort Manhatten please, with 10 cherries.." I KID YOU NOT!!! LOL!!!

"I think I scrambled my brain!!"
I have probably the worst work situation of all. I work at a Suncoast video store at the mall by me. It's the first time I've worked inside the mall durring Christmas. Talk about busy. And if another kid comes up to me asking for Pokemon cards (which we are always out of) I'm going to rip his head off. God I wish it was summer, and I was at CP.

To all of you people in the Service industry:
I used to work in hotels, so I know where you're coming from. Just let me say that personally, I appreciate your efforts, and I always try to smile and wish you a happy holiday when I speak to you. I try not to ask inane or obvious questions, and I say thank you when I get the answer. Finally, let me wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
As for Y2K plans...
I shall be hunkered in my house, watching the ball drop on the tube. No extra cash, no stockpiled water, no generator, for I have confidence in the System. And if the System breaks down, there's always my trusty 9mm.
See you on the Other Side.

Christmas plans?
Head out to the folks house in Pittsburgh and relax with the family for the weekend.
New Years?
Head to downtown Harrisburg for the First Night celebration, catch the fireworks, then head home and watch football all day Saturday.
And finally, as to the complaints from the service folks, I spent seven years running a chain of sports fan shops (even a couple in Columbus, LuvR) and it can literally be hell this time of year. However, while I try to be sympathetic to the plight that these folks have, it's really the minority of customers that make things miserable. I've found that the majority are patient within reason, and will work with you. The ones who make things miserable are very likely miserable people themselves. Kind of like the folks who think they deserve that last Magnum ride.

Well if electricity does go out, which I think it won't we won't be able to talk for a while. So I'll get it out of the way now--Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good MF!
Merry Christmas to all! I am going to London w/ my High School band for New Years. So for all of you who have a satalite dish or get the BBC tune in and watch it!!
I am ready for Y2K! Got the Mountain Dew stacked up in my basement. :)

I am a firm beliver that the Whack a Mole will be the only other thing that will be Y2K compliant. Luckey that Whack a Mole will never go out of style.
Happy Holidays to everyone. My New Year's plans are to go to Holiday Valley resort and do some skiing, and lots of drinking New Years Eve.
Steph and I don't have anything special planned, but I can assure you that consumption of alcohol will surely be a part of the evening's festivities (as it will be for Pete... what a shocker! ;) We still need to have some Friday's drinks some night on the Point). I keep telling myself I'm going to party like I'm in college, sans the hurling, but I haven't done that in months and I feel like an old man.

Happy Holidays to all my fellow CPPlacers. It has been an interesting year to say the least. I like Jeff & Pete will be doing my part to pay down the debt C-Town has from building Jacob's Field & The Brown's Stadium. (we have a sin tax on certain beverages)
Hope everyone stays healthy and has a prosperous 2000 (as long as we all survive!)
Jeff, we can start TODAY and drink right into the new year!
I'd like to wish everyone here at CP Place a wonderful holiday as well!!!
My hat goes off to all who work in the service/retail industry for having to put up with all of the crazed shoppers! As a former employee of Dahlkemper's, I can definitly relate to you!
As far as the usual holiday festivities with family, I've decided to just ring the new year in with some close friends, a warm fire, and some cold beer, and pray that I don't get paged into work with this stupid Y2K thing!!

"we have a sin tax on certain beverages"
So, if the bartender rings up your drink on the computerized cash register, and charges you too much, is that a "sin-tax error"?
