Season pass processing issue

...What the hell is the point in buying certificates the year before then?...

Saving $$$$. I do believe the certificates cost less when bought earlier or through AAA.

Actually, I believe what Jeff meant was WHY would you go to the cashier AT ALL if you already had your certificates?

When I was there yesterday I went straight to the window and asked the woman if I needed to stand in the long line just to upgrade my pass (which I've had for well over 2 months already) to JCC , she said yes. I said "I'll be back". If Raptor isn't at the end of that long line, I'm not waiting! ;)

Thankfully there was no long line for the parking sticker :)Although I will admit I had someone put mine on REAL crappy (too high and crooked) and the more I look at it the more I'm thinking I'm going to HAVE to get it replaced and redone. I should have said something right away yesterday but I had more important things to do! ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

I'm going to be there today around 2:30 to get mine processed, where do I go when I get there? I kind of figured it was at the main gate but it sounds like it's not. Are there at least signs to tell me where to go from the parking lot?

Jo,

Sorry to hear that they messed up your parking pass, bring it on in and we will be more then happy to correct it for you. At this time of season most of our employees are new and it takes a little time for them to get really good at putting them on though. Again, sorry to hear that you had an irritating trip to CP for your season pass and I hope that your next trip goes better.

The Toll Cashier at the Main Toll Booth should set you in the right direction. Passes are being done at the Front Gate, at the "Group Sales" building to the left of the entrance...Thank you and I hope it goes ok.

What a lame process they have there. I stood in line for about an hour on Saturday afternoon to get my pass. On the plus side, I got to see Dragster launch once. On the minus side, it didn't make it over the tophat. D'oh! The woman in line behind me said "There's NO way that thing's going to be done in time!"

Patience is a virtue, grasshoppah.

I am sure that TTD not going completely over the top was on purpose...I personally saw it make at least a dozen complete trips on Sat and Sun. I did hear that sometimes when they test it they PURPOSELY don't go all out...Just a thought.

John

Spent just over 1 Hour yesterday. (Thankfully it was NICE but NO TTD, or anything else running to watch)

You FIRST visit the cashier windows where as previously stated, the cashier takes your pre bought certificate, writes a number on the back of your card and then sends you to the PHOTO line. Here is ONE spot where CP could streamline the process.

DON'T MAKE EVERYONE WAIT IN THE CASHIER LINE...If you are just there for the photo, stand in the photo line and let that line handle the "writing of the number" on the back of the pass, and collecting the certificate. If like our group, you have an actual TRANSACTION, buying a pass, UPGRADING A JUNIOR TO A REGULAR:) or whatever, THEN go to the cashier window.

Having not visited other parks processing centers but hearing plenty of GOOD THINGS from others, CP can do a MUCH BETTER job of processing the passes.

Who next year will be renewing by mail!

I think whoever runs the CP pass processing must have started out at the Ohio DMV. Both places provide the same type of irritation when waiting for your ID. CP needs to invest in more cameras, more cashiers, a bigger building and better organization for the pass process.

The mail renewal is a good thing, and a step in the right direction. But, they say first impressions count. Someone who is getting their first pass is starting their season out in a most irritating way. I'm sure CP doesn't want to give people poor customer service before they even get into the park, but they are. They need to step up with much more capacity in this area.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

I have a question about processes your pass.

I have a season parking pass. Do I still have to pay parking to get my pass processed?

Thanks

MrCoaster,

If I understand you correctly you would like to know if you will have to pay for parking when you come for your season pass, correct? No, you will not have to pay for parking when you come to get your pass. We won't be charging until the park is open for business, both this coming weekend (limited duration) and starting the following weekend for Daily operations. Even still however with a parking pass you naturally will not have to pay. Do you already have it on your car?

If you don't have the pass on your car already then EVEN IF you have to pay for parking when you come in we will refund up to two parking tickets when you come in to get your sticker put on. Thank you.

Amazing how many people agree with the slow process problem. I thought I was the only one irritated with the whole thing. Let's hope that the park has some plans in store to update the age-old and I mean old process..

JohnDubya, Thank you for the information. I went today and had a very good time. I walked right up to the cashier window and waited for 2 minutes outside the photo room. (I got there around 3:00) I talked to the guy outside the season pass center for a long time also (super nice guy but I don't remember his name) Blue Streak was testing and there were ops in the Raptor booth but I didn't see it running. Unfortunately I didn't see TTD test but with about 2 weeks to go until I ride it, I'm not worried about it.

In waiting 45 minutes in a line on Saturday I began to say to myself "why did I just renew it online??" but I came to realize that it shouldn't matter how I do it, it should be easy enough, and fast enough that I don't wait 45 minutes to get my freakin' picture taken for a certificate I've had since before Christmas!! I think it's the parks way to try to get us in shape for waiting for coaster in July, but it is obserd that it took 45 minutes to get it. As someone said before first impressions are everything, and seeing how CP does a lot of their business, seeing the season pass operation the way it is isn't keeping with CP's tradition of service, and I think us talking not so greatly of the process will influence some changes next year.

Question about season passes.

My friend and I plan to go on opening day to get our season passes.

1. Where do we have to go first to pay for them? and where do we go from there?

2. What time does the processing begin?

First off, have you lost your mind?

Try not to go opening day!

Second, you must (no matter what) go to the lines in front of group sales. There you'll talk to the cashiers purchase whatever, and then, you'll be directed to the side of the building to wait in, yes, another line to get your picture taken. I highly suggest avoiding the camera on the far right. I believe they are open the same time the park is.

I know that the line is long on opening day, but in the past how long is the line for the first couple of weeks the park is open?

------------------
Coasters? I thought those were those things you put under your drink? ...am I on the wrong site?

i am going on may the 9th. I need to get my season pass photo taken, since this is my first season pass. What time does the season pass central open...i know it says park hours, but is that 9 or is it earlier? what would be a safe time to go?

------------------
Most MF rides in one day...13

most WT rides in one day...3

Joe Johnson is god

Park Operation hours on May 9th are 10am - 8pm....so that would be a good time to go.
