Screen in front of RR station

^Maintenance works around smaller spaces on other coasters and rides at the park. That area is more then what they need to get the train off the track. And any structural work they do on the towers is always accomplished by placing a crane on the beach, not midway. Maybe in the future it will be used but for now, it actually is a waste.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Something tells me placing a crane on soft sand to haul multi-ton pieces of steel up into the air is not the best idea ever.

Just because that's where that crane is positioned doesn't mean they always bring them in there. I've seen the cranes/evidence of the cranes on the beach many times. They always put down a bed of plywood to park the cranes on top of for stability.

I never said they did.

My point was that 99's claim that they "always" put the crane on the beach is dead wrong, and that the assertion that the minute space between WT and GW isn't wasted - its quite likely necessary.

Moving on.. I like the screen a lot, and I love how we do the nightly show before park closes. I miss the lasers and some of things they did with the show. If I remember right, they use to put pictures of people from that day in the show on a daily basis. If they never did, they should. Make it change a little bit daily instead of the same routine.

As far as the actual screen though, since I got carried away with the show, it's kinda in the way, but it's the best place for it, too. So we're just going to have to deal with it. It's never been a problem before, and I don't expect it to be in the near future.

CPOF - I disagree. I've said it before in this forum that that whole setup looks amateurish and like it was a quick/cheap attempt to put on a closing show like some of the Disney parks. As my mother used to say - "Do it right or don't do it at all".

Good news though - per the Pagoda cam - the screen is still not up!

I'm not familiar with how Disney operates :(

Good lord man, I guess I should have said 99% of the time! Unless its something really out of the norm (as in this off season), the crane is utilized from the beach when the park is open. Obviously taking a large section of track off would require the crane to be on much more stable ground. But how often has that happened? As far as I can remember, any work on the ride during the season has seen a crane on the beach.

As for the screen, it does not top my list of eyesores in the park...not even my the top 5. I enjoyed the show MUCH better when they actually used lasers but the current show is not bad and still draws a huge crowd. I don't see a problem with it blocking a view of whatever it is blocking because at some point, the park will have built enough crap that it will all eventually block the view of something else.

Pertaining to the people saying how ugly Millennium is and how it ruined the theme of that area, I guess we should just tear that chunk of crap out of the ground and toss it into Lake Erie for being such a burden on the park.

I never said I didn't like the ride. But putting a futuristic themed ride in a western themed part of the park just ruins it. And I know why they did. Yes I know Mantis is back there too, but it is outside of the railroad loop. As most of you know the frontier theme has always be contained to the area within the railroad. My point is you see this rustic country train station then look up and see a giant screen with supports and behind that grey and blue steel.

Sorry about that. I guess I should have assumed that by saying "always", you didn't actually mean "always". That word always confuses me.

I am selling underwater maps to the green train for a cool 100 million dollars, as an added bonus if you act now I will also inculde a sham wow, but wait there more be the 90 millionth caller and only will get the map and the sham wow, you will also get a free conversation with the time share guys in front of gemni. You want more you say..... watch the bay gulls battle it out with the sea gulls for a peice of gum discarded by a careless patron. this all can be yours for a cool 100 million dollars. act now as quanities are limited and special restrictions apply.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

It looks like the screen is getting some attention today (looking at the webcam)...

As in dismantling it?

They are attaching something all across the top beam, a section at a time. It doesn't look like a new screen yet, but maybe it still needs to be unrolled or something.

I'll try to replace this with a longer version once the day is over:
