Scooters for rent for handicapped?

Does CP rent scooters or wheelchairs for the disabled? My wife walks with a cane and gets tired easily so we were wondering if we could rent either a scooter or a wheelchair for her? She can still ride the coasters but I wonder if that would bring up an issue with the ride attendants?

If anyone has any info or input please let me know

Thanks

Wolfgang

Yes they offer scooters but on a limited basis. I'm not sure if you can order one in advance or not. It's best to get to the park early to ensure that you can receive one.

It also should not be an issue with the attendants. She can either use her cane to stand and walk through the line with everyone else, or she can use the handicap elevator tor the ramp.

Thanks for the quick response, we're usually up their pretty early, but we haven't been in a few years and since we both walk with canes it was a serious concern. I'm trying to talk her into riding MF and Magnum, she's never been on anything that big LOL It should be interisting

Thanks again

Wolfgang

Does anyone know what they charge? I should probably just call them and find out. Do they have people in the offices year round? Does anyone know what dept. I would call and does anyone know the number?

I believe their general info line is staffed year-round, or you could email them using the "contact us" link at the bottom right of their website.

We rented a regular wheelchair for my girlfriend's mom this past summer, I believe it was $12 + deposit for an all day rental. I don't remember the cost of the power chairs, but they were quite a bit more (plus an even larger deposit) than the manual chairs.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

The cost ot rent an electric scooter in in the neighborhood of $40-$45 a day. There is a deposit. Check the FAQ section of the CP site for more info.

If you have hotel reservations at a CP hotel you may reserve one during each day of your stay. You'll need to give your confirmation number when you call customer service. You can request to pick it up at the front gate or the Joe Cool Store near the resort gate. You may take the cart to to hotel. Just ask for a special tag to leave the park. If you do not have reservations it is first come first serve.

$40-$45 a day is worth it for me. There is no way she would be able to walk all over the park all day long without it killing her. Plus, I won't have to listen to her complain about the walking and stuff, so its a win, win for me. I just hope the deposit isn't an arm and a leg! I'm affraid someone else will take it while were on a ride, but I would hope the attendents watch them or theirs a way to lock it up.

Thanks for the info people!

Not to worry. When you park the cart just remove the key and take it with you. The carts have baskets for your other items. We've never had an issue with anybody taking anything while the cart is unattended.Your biggest worry is rude people that cut right in front of the cart or those that won't move to the right.

We borrowed a power chair from a friend last year when we went to the ohio state fair, I know what you mean, nobody would move for her, so I called a buddy of mine who lived close and he brought me an air horn, or what ever their called. They're a small can with a loud horn on it and it uses compressed air. That scared the $&(T out of em' They started moving after that! I told here to just run them over, but shes WAY to nice, but not me. I rather enjoyed it :)
