This was my very first time at Cedar Point. My dad flew me up from Iowa to spend the day there for my birthday since he works for Northwest Airlines. We got there at 9:30 and found out that the tallest and arguably best coaster there would be closed all day, top thrill dragster. Anyways we got in line for Millenium Force and waited 45 min. The ride was pretty cool, especially for how fast it went up and how Lake Erie was just to the right of me easily visible. The stand up coaster Mantis was also closed for nearly the whole day. Besides Dragster, Wicked Twister and Mantis, I rode every ride that i actually wanted to. I thought the park staff were overly cautious, but hey. I was very impressed by MF, Gemini, and Power Tower. Besides that, all the other rides were decent at best. Blue Streak, Corkscrew, and Mean Streak were pathetic. I know BS is very old and 'vintage', but was very lame. Magnum and Raptor really didn't do that much for me. I thank the site for all the info. I used the coin trick on Demon Drop from reading on the site somewhere. Anyone riding that one should definately try it, pointless ride without it. I also got to see Maverick which was pretty cool. Overall, a pretty good trip for someone not as easily pleased.

Didn't like Raptor or Magnum? WOW. Tough crowd. :) Glad to hear you had an overall good trip though.

I don't know how many thrill parks you get to visit but the great attraction at CP that I have found through the years is that even if one or two coasters are down for maintenance, there are a plethora of other coasters and rides to choose from. I agree that it is tough to get there and have the coaster you want to try out not functioning. My personal favorite is MF however after watching the videos of Maverick, the point from the launch to the end looks to be a tough competitor.
