Hi everybody,
This is my first TR and I'm new to Pointbuzz in general, so here goes...
I had been planning a Cedar Point trip with my friends for a few months, and was really looking forward to the trip. It was me and 4 friends, and we had spent a lot of time coming up with a plan for what to ride when. It was the first trip for some of them, and me being the CP fan of the group I wanted to show them as much as I could of the Point. I'm going to use fake names for my friends so I can refer to them easily. I'm Wynn, there's Joe, Amelia, Sarah, and Nicole.
We met around 10 and drove to the Point. Traffic was horrendus due to bad weather - our luck. We had planned to get there right when they opened at noon, but we took a detour because of a traffic jam and got there closer to 1. We all went in the Breakers/Magnum entrance only to see that many rides were down because of light rain. So we headed over to Power Tower.
Power Tower is the only thing in the park I will not ride. I have done the down side, and could maybe do it again, but the up one terrifies me. I'm backwards in that I can look down, not up. Similar story with Power Tower I guess. I waited by the exit while they waited for the Space Shot, unfortunately I was on the wrong side and didn't get to see their reactions.
While they were in line, I took stock of what rides were reopening now that the rain had stopped. MF was going, Mantis, Raptor, and maXair seemed to be running, when it started raining again just as they got off. We were getting hungry though, so we went towards the front of the park because we saw maXair still going, even in the rain.
We split up at the front of the park - Joe, Sarah, and Nicole wanted to wait and get donuts in the donut shop, but there was a line. So me and Amelia went and rode Demon Drop because we knew it would be closing. We also grabbed some cheesy fries - my first at Cedar Point :).
After that we headed over to maXair. We had a little trouble persuading Joe (he chickened out on some others, thought MF was wooden before we arrived lol). He eventually rode it with us and loved it, it's now his favorite at the park. After that we headed over to Disaster Transport for a ride. Nothing special to me, but all my friends loved it.
We then went over to Wicked Twister. Joe was a little worried about the launch and the vertical-ness of it, but we dragged him on. Guess what? He loved it. Me and Amelia waited for the front. It started raining, but WT in the rain was awesome.
5 minutes after we got off, Joe and Sarah wanted to go back to Disaster Transport. So we split up, they went off to DT, and me, Amelia, and Nicole went off to MF.
It had a 2 hour wait by the time we got there. We waited it out, because we knew it wouldn't get much better throughout the day. By the time we got to the station, it had actually only been an hour and 15 minutes. It turned out to be a great ride, a first ride for Amelia and she loved it. After that we planned to meet up with Joe and Sarah.
We met up with them at the Iron Dragon, where we learned that they had done nothing but ridden Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport repeatedly the whole time we were on MF. They enjoyed it though, so I suppose thats what matters. We were getting hungry and it was almost 7, so we decided to go eat at Chik-Fil-A in Frontier Town.
Joe, Sarah, and Nicole had a great time going through Fright Zone on the Frontier Trail, but Amelia was REALLY freaked out. Her reaction was hilarious - I couldn't help but laugh. Nothing much to tell about dinner though.
Joe, Sarah, and Nicole decided to mostly do the HalloWeekends attractions after that, they aren't big coaster fans. Me and Amelia, however, went over to SkyHawk and had a great time. After that we decided to wait for Maverick. Another 2 hour wait, but ended up closer to an hour and a half. It was a great ride, we both loved it, but were getting tired.
When we finished with Maverick, it was almost 10. Joe, Sarah, and Nicole wanted to go but Amelia and I managed to sneak in a ride on Gemini :). The only thing left we had really wanted to do was TTD.
Not a great day as far as ride count, but it was a fun and more laid back trip. Planning another trip for May 22, can't wait. Hopefully we'll get on stuff like TTD, Magnum, Raptor, etc. Should be fun!
P.S. Hope the report wasn't too long!
