My last day as a part of the 2002 Raptor Crew :(
Began the day chowing down with Jeff (UCICSECVH) and Flora (RCRED) in the employee cafe. Something about those free pancakes! :) We sadly made our last last early morning walk around the park, again visiting in Boneville, and speculating on Area 51. Time to report to work. I had brought the crew cookies, which lasted for like 2 hours! :) I got to do the AM train transfer, I did NOT put them back in order (blame Jeremy!) which would prove a dire mistake later on. There is this theory on Raptor when you don’t put the trains on in order something always happens. Remember this! Got my AM test ride, and weather was chilly and overcast. Crowd seemed not quite the typical Saturday crowd. There were alot of CP virgins which of course would freak out when they couldn’t fasten or unfasten the seat belts. We had an op from Mean Streak, Eddie joining our crew that day and he turned out to be quite the riot! No ride prides so I had to do entrance a couple of times. I don’t mind entrance, especially when one of my CP buds would stop to say hi. Pretty uneventful to this Po!nt. I went to dinner and imagine how I felt when a couple of CP big wigs sat with me! :) I would however like to know how Talon came up in one of those conversations? Headed back to midway (around 7:30pm) and immediately noticed no Raptor. Apparently when I was at dinner Raptor went down. So crew and I stayed busy cleaning queues (which were TRASHED) cleaning spider webs, finding gum, and cleaning the trains that were in the station. (One was stuck on the block brake) I stayed at entrance doing the usual "Raptor is currently down mechanical....yadda yadda yadda" and yes hearing ALL those SAME questions we ride ops just LOVE. "What happened? How long will you be down? How long have you been down? When will you be back up? Is it broken? Are there people still stuck in that train over there? Can we still wait on line?" Blech! :( Imagine the crews shock when we were told at 11:55pm to take our positions! As luck would have it, Raptor didn’t come back up and we were finally told we could go at midnight. I really do feel badly for the guests when Raptor is down, and honestly the night would have gone alot quicker if we were busy with guests!! So that would be my last night as part of the Raptor crew. I found myself very depressed about that, since I really did have an awesome time and really got very close with my crew members. You can blame Raptor Jo for the down time Saturday night, it’s all MY fault for taking the trains out of order! ;) Jeff, Flora and I went back to dorms and headed for Louies. I really did have a GREAT time there (despite Jeff telling anyone who asked that Raptor was down all night cause of me! ;)) and started to remember all the great times I had there in 2000. I was kind of sorry at that point we hadn’t gone before then. I saw SOOO many people I knew in there!! :) Flora and I were like a couple of kids just yacking away forever when we got back to the dorms, I’m sure we drove our roommate crazy but we can call it PAYBACK for all the crap she put us through! :) When I awoke on Sunday morning however I then remembered why sometimes Louie’s wasn’t such a good idea! ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)
