This is my first time doing a trip report so I hope I do a good job. Anyway, me and a couple of my friends decided a couple weeks ago to go to Cedar Point for the first day of our summer vacation. Since it would be a Saturday, we wanted to get Fast Lane. And it was definitely worth it! Also, the park wasn't as busy as I thought it would be but there were still lots of people. Didn't see too many other fast lane users too. And the weather was nice at first with a cool lake breeze but later in the day it got really hot, but overall we enjoyed the trip. Oh and this was my first trip to the park this season.
We arrived at the park just after opening, and to start off we went to Raptor, which one out of my three friends I had with me had never gone on before. The regular line was out of the queue and onto the midway, but with Fast Lane it was only a 10 minute wait...and for the front row! I forgot how fast it was, especially the bottom of the first drop. I discovered that if I held my legs out in front of me and squeezed my leg muscles that I never experienced that uncomfortable feeling of blood rushing to my feet. I enjoyed the ride so much better due to this discovery and it is now ranked higher on my list of favorites.
From there we went to Wicked Twister which was about a 20 minute wait and it was fun. I sat in the front row and my friend sitting next to me got a bug in her eye, but other than that it was a short, nice ride.
Then we went to Millennium Force, where I rode it 3 times in a row (first time in the shortest line somewhere in the middle, second time in the front row, and third time in the last row). The first time the fast lane line went to the bottom of the stairs, and the second and third times the line ended at the top of the stairs right at the entrance to the station. It was around a 10 minute wait while the regular line was around 1 1/2 hours. It was an awesome ride as usual.
Maverick was next and provided its usual exciting ride. Regular line was between 1 1/2 to 2 hours, while fast lane was about 10 minutes. After one ride we decided to get something to eat at Chick-Fil-A, which was good but a little expensive. To let our stomachs settle before going on more big rides, we went on Thunder Canyon (it was starting to get really hot) and Skyhawk to dry off. Both were only a 5 minute wait (including fast lane for skyhawk).
We then chose to go on Gemini where I rode the blue train and won. Fast Lane was a walk on ride. I thought it was smoother than last year which I was happy about. Next was Magnum, which still provides a fun ride but gets rougher every year. Fast lane wasn't needed since the regular line was a walk-on but we decideed to go throught the FL entrance and line anyway just for the fun of it.
Dragster was next and I rode it 2 times in a row. First time was in the front row, second time in the shortest line which was in the middle. For the first time there were only a few other people in the fast lane line and the second time there was nobody else in it. The regular wait was probably between 30-40 minutes while fast lane (not including waiting for the front row) was about 20 minutes. The wait for the front was about 10 minutes more.
Then we did Millennium again, it was so much fun as always! We didn't feel like waiting (since there wasn't any wait for fast lane, it was a walk on) so we picked the shortest line in the middle. Back to Raptor for a second ride and still enjoyed it. It was pretty much a walk-on, going on the shortest row which was the 3rd row. After that we went on Maverick a second time which was another fast lane walk-on.
Then we did Sky Ride once each direction, got an ice cream at Tofts, and our group split in two with me and one of my friends going on Blue Streak, Cedar Downs, and Disaster Transport while the other 2 went on Maxair. I didn't want to get sick after just eating so that's why I opted out of going on maxair. Blue Streak seemed smoother this year too and provided its typical but fun ride (sat in the front). And I won in Cedar Downs :) DT's queue was filled and since it's been a while since I've been on it, I liked it and disliked it at the same time. All of the chasers were on, the queue was air conditioned, but the actual ride was hot, short, and smelly. Plus what really is the theming any more? It's very confusing and seems random.
But one of my friends who went on maxair didn't feel too great afterwards, which was probably a combination of being tired, dehydrated, and having just eaten before riding it. So we took a little break and everyone (except for me) was ready to leave. I wanted to get at least one more ride on a big coaster before we left so I chose Dragster. But with only one more train ahead of me when I was supposed to ride, it broke down. I waited for about 15 minutes to see if it would start back up, but the workers said it was a mechanical issue and they weren't sure if it would be running again that night. So disappointed, and without one last big ride before leaving, I reluctantly left. I know my friends really wanted to go, but it was still hard to go, expecially since Luminosity had started and I was looking forward to seeing it. But what I saw while leaving was pretty impressive. I can't wait to see it the next time I go.
Overall the trip was great and we had tons of fun. Here's a recap of my ride count: Millennium Force x4; Maverick x2; Dragster x2; Raptor x2; Sky Ride x2; Disaster Transport x1; Skyhawk x1; Cedar Downs x1; Thunder Canyon x1; Gemini x1; Magnum x1; Blue Streak x1; Wicked Twister x1 and I think that covers everything. This trip was perfect!
EDIT: I didn't realize this was so long, so sorry about that.

Sounds like you had fun! I agree with you that FL is definately worth it! May 26, 2012, my dad and I went and we rode Raptor first, front row and it did seem faster and more intense.
