We stayed at a Lighthouse Point Cabin Saturday night and Sunday night. Arrived at the Soak City gate right at 10am, got right in, and in line for Magnum, thought we would be the 3rd train out for the season, but the 1st train got stuck, so we waited for about 10 minutes, then left. Our next stop was the Gemini, both sides were running right away, but everything in the station was a mess. Random rows of cars were open, and the next train that came in, our row was open, and there were still sand bags in half the rows! I don’t understand why the ride was opened, and yet most rows still had the sandbags in them! Overall good ride, with no trims at the ending helix (noticed that all weekend.)
Next walked back by the Mean Streak, it was about 10:30, wasn’t even open yet. Mine Ride wasn’t running yet either. Skyhawk had a 30 minute wait, didn’t ride but watched a few rides. Walked around the park for a while to see what else was new. Noticed not too many of the food prices actually went down, besides the ones mentioned, still charging the tax on the food prices which makes no sense, it should all be included. Went back to the Cabin for a while to relax at Barbecue.
Ended up riding Mean Streak later in the day, everything seemed to be running good now, and got a quick ride on Magnum with about a 5 train wait. Noticed Dragster was running on and off for a while, didn’t bother to wait. The evening came and we went up front to check out the arcade, noticed the new bowling lanes which were very nice! Played a quick game, then went and watched the fireworks, very good show!
Sunday came, nice weather, rode the magnum right away, with no wait, then the Gemini. Went back to the Mean Streak where it was not opened yet, go figure, and Skyhawk was closed, so the back of the park was really dead. Took a lot of Sunday as walking around and enjoying time in the park.
Later in the evening went to ride Mean Streak, Gold and Green train running I believe, they were having all kinds of problems, the Gold train was not working properly in the station and the lap bars were not functioning right at all, a lot of them had to be manually released which took forever. The green train had no problem so it must be something with the gold train, eventually got on the green train with no problem. Then rode the mine ride, with a walk on, they were only putting 12 people on each train, quite a few people in the station but not many rows open, first 2 cars only, which is dumb. Anyway then a quick ride on the blue side Gemini, then another Magnum, by this time it was 7:30 and called it a night.
Checked out of Lighthouse Point around 9:30, went into the park and noticed the Skyhawk sigh up once again stating it was closed, and noticed no one was waiting for Dragster, why? Because it was already open! I have no idea why it was open but it was, but there were rollback issues. They were filling the entire train and each train ended up being sent twice or it wouldn’t make it, until they realized they had to take people out of it and closed off rows which started angering people, but we made it on in about 20 minutes, we were in the station the whole time, just took forever because of the rollbacks.
Then we headed over to the Millennium, 2 trains were running, went on it and walked right up into the station and on the train, no waiting at all! Did this 3 times in about 15-20 minutes, the longest wait was 6 minutes from start to finish, so it was very empty at about 10:30 Monday morning. Went to the back and decided to try my luck with the Mean Streak again, but was up in the station, and noticed a maintenance guy was there watching the gold train. The gold train was doing the same thing! The train was not unlocking properly, and had to be manually unlocked, and the maintenance guy had to practically rip the side part of the train off to get one guy out of the train! What a pain. Why not get the gold train off and put on the green train that wasn’t running today (Monday)? Oh well, it closed down mechanical and I left, wasn’t waiting any more, got some fries to eat, then left and called it a weekend. Overall great weather, rides were having a few problems, but didn’t bother me much as I get up there quite a few times each season.
Nice trip report, sounds like the crowds were very light the hole time. Some questions, was Gemini racing, was those roll back on TTD in the morning or around miday. I hope my trip has light crowds to.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
Gemini was racing all day Saturday, Sunday only blue was running, and today Red was running.
The rollbacks were first thing in the morning today.
I noticed this year they've been starting the ride first off with a full train of people. First train Saturday with people, rolled back. First train Sunday with people, rolled back. First train with people Monday, sounding from your report, rolled back. I hope they continue to do this so I can finally get a rollback. All I have to do is be on the first train of the day I guess.

This was not my first time there, its where we normally stay, its about the 7th time staying in a Cabin. We have stayed in a cottage about 4 or 5 times as well, and do like the cabins better because they have more room, and the loft. So we have stayed there quite a few times since it opened in 2001. We normally stay 2 or 3 times a year at Lighthouse Point. Its very nice and handy for cooking.
