Saturday 10/4 & Sunday 10/5

If any of you are at the park on a Saturday or Sunday, be sure you check out the cool Raptor pumpkin in the Raptor control booth! That's my pumpkin! :)

Saturday October 4th:
It was time for Raptor Jo to play Raptor Jo! HAD to have some of those free pancakes (aka: if you eat these things you won't be hungry again till after 3pm :)) then did my walk around the whole park and headed for my fav bird of prey to begin yet another year as a member of the Raptor crew. TL Mike met me and he and I did the block and lift walk (219 stairs) and I got a refresher on load, unload, dispatch, spiels, and some of the changes on controls. Of course did morning test ride, 1-4, which is the ONLY ride EVER that gets my stomach. The weather was cool but not too bad for the guests, sun appeared a few times. Full queues most of the day, full trains all day. Getting back on controls was awesome, saying "Raptor ready" again was too cool, I swear I felt right at home! :) I had so forgotten what a long day Saturdays are...I arrived at Raptor at 9am, and didn't leave the park again until almost 12:45am Sunday. Yikes! No Louie's for me that night! Went back to dorm and DIED! ;) 1st day as a CP employee was fun again but exhausting would be an understatement. A couple of times I thought to myself "wth was I thinking?" ;) I found myself missing my kids and my b/f terribly all day and night.

Sunday October 5th:
I have already come to the conclusion I liked CP MUCH better when park didn't open till noon on Sundays. Chowed down a big breakfast (for like $3.00!) and reported back to Raptor at 9:30. The weather was alot nicer for the guests, very sunny, very blue skies, and total lack of guests. The crew and I wondered all day why they didn't just run 2 trains. It is much more of a chore for us to do empty seats than with a guest in it. I got to see Mr Skyward a few times, walking back to Raptor he tracked me down to say hi, (yes he touched me again) and he rode Raptor a couple of times to say hi again. I even got to jump on once and ride too which of course was the jump start I needed. I also saw a few GTTPers through out the day. One guy grabbed me and asked me if I was Raptor Jo, said yea, he said "I read about you on the internet and am so happy to finally meet you!" Not so sure that sounds like such a good thing, does it? ;) I told my b/f that story and he cracked up! :) This day certainly seemed like a cake walk compared to Saturday, the guests really seemed to be having a great power ride day, and 8pm came alot quicker than midnight came the night before! Jumped in truck and did the 2.75 hour haul home. Normally it drives me CRAZY to sit for so long, but must admit it was actually a relief to sit for such a long time, I didn't even stop either! :)

So it's official....I am again a CP employee and a member of the bestest crew/ride in the park! :)
My main concern was if I could still show the horses at the Quarter Horse Congress cause my legs were WIPED out. Rode yesterday and am just fine!! yea!! :)

i'm sorry, but i think it's kinda pathetic how your whole world seems to revolve around raptor, jo. i mean, yeah it's a great ride, and i luuv my crew, but jesus, get a ****in life. how many times can you ride the same ride, i got sick test ridin it. i don't know, maybe it's just me, but i definitely think you need to get out more and experience the world beyond raptor.
That was me that came up to you on sunday. I shouldve said who i was but my impatient faimly had to get on that train. Sorry if i kinda scared you just comin up and leavin again =)

ooooo, someone obviously has no clue, and it's NOT Raptor Jo. I would assume someone who has kids, a BF and other interests, such as her horses and competitions, certainly DOES have a LIFE.

I am a Mom to 2 great kids, I own a house, I've had a job with the same company for almost 14 years, I own 2 trucks, I have a wonderful, caring and sweet b/f, I am a professionally trained equestrian, I am paid to train and ride other people's horses, I own 1 horse and currently lease 6 others. My b/f and I are saving up to aquire a farm so I can start my own horse farm.
.
I could be wrong but I believe that IS experiencing the world beyond Raptor????

I have only ridden Raptor a meer 813x, what about someone like Raptor Man Dave who has I think over 4k flights? And I know there are more out there who have tons more then I ever could dream of! CP and Raptor are FAR from my life priorities.

Thanks for defending me OldCPer-much appreciated! :)

Having known Jo for some time now, I can say she is a terrific mother, friend, co-worker, and overall great person. So, she is passionate about Cedar Point, and she has a favorite, big deal. Who here isn't passionate about a certain ride? In all honesty, I think more people in the country should be as passionate as Jo is about something, maybe then the work ethic in the country would get better.

I think that someone needs to get to know Jo, before they make any statement like this! Jo is a great friend and mom and does a whole lot more with her life then ride Raptor! Besides everyone needs a hobby and Jo's is riding Raptor. I see nothing wrong with that. Doesn't everyone have a hobby?
