Not at all. The only thing that I ever worry about is getting hit by a bird or something. But that doesnt stop me from riding.

If I had to pick a scenario, I am most concerned about the launch cable snapping and injuring riders and/or people on the midway. Remember the photos from the first cable snap? That thing was tangled all around the tower and I always wondered how that didn't hit someone.
Where are the photos of that? Sounds kind of interesting.
I too am not concerned. I trust Cedar Point with my life, literally. They have treated me well these past 10 years or so I've been visiting regularly :) I have two trips planned this summer (first time for that, I usually only have time for one) and I plan on riding Dragster as much as possible!

I wanna know where the photos are from the cable snap? I have never had a chance to see them either. If someone has them or knows an addy for them can you shout it out please? Thanx Peace Mikey
2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3
Here's the news article about the cable snapping the first time. 2003 and 2004 had a few occasions where the cable separated, one spraying debris into the riders. Starting in 2005 CP started using better cables that are more durable. The cable hasn't snapped since.

There's no ":(" that will do it justice.

Being injured by the ride never concerned me. But sitting in the third row and seeing a kid in the front seat whip a disposable camera out of his cargo pants just as we were launching ruined the entire ride for me. I don't think being smashed in the face by a camera at 120mph would have felt too good. Fortunately, he didn't drop the camera but he easily could have.
It rained nickels on me on TTD's first day 2003. I was filming near the Paddlewheel and got hit by some change. It didn't hurt, in fact I thought it was funny. I think Hooper was over there with me that day as we contemplated various ride related issues that eventually took place...problems and such that seemed inevetable.

I'm not really worried about my safety on TTD or on any ride at CP. The thing that worries me the most is getting thrown up on.

Whenever I see a picture with the tires I always think to myself the hell that maintenance had to go through soon after that time period.
The safety of Dragster never even crossed my mind, the ride is safe, I have no concerns.
As for Kingda Ka, that ride is probably safe also, but I never thought Six Flags could keep it running.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
It's still down from that accident too. From what I've heard, the catchcar has been removed as well as the cables.
But Dragster, on the other hand, is finally coming back to life after it's 5 day standstill from all the rain.^_^

I hope KK will be down in june so I will be able to ride the tallest fastest running coaster in the world.
I agree with Pete. CP is known for their awesome safety record and the fact that they have all their rides running at full capacity more than 90% of the time. TTD proved to be a great challenge to that once given fact about the park. It's easy to see that CP tries their best to have TTD and the rest of the rides open at all times, but they struggle at times.
I remember stories about them opening TTD a hour before closing after being down all day and keeping it open up to a half hour after closing for those who missed out during the day. You won't find many parks that dedicated to its guest.
As for Six Flag's. Sadly (their new CEO is trying) SF has a record of running many of their rides at poor capacity even in the height of summer. Multiple ride closings are a normal at most of their parks. It doesn't appear that SF was ready for the never ending battle to keep their Intamin rocket kicking day after day like CP has.

The thing most SF parks do to be running at such horrible capacity is run their coasters at a one train operation (which some parks are fixing).
And dont forget about the whole Maintenance Workers strike that happened a while ago.

Gomez, last year on June 15th my Daughter and I were in line for Dragster at about 9pm. It started raining and most people, except for about 25 of us, got out of line, and just like that we were in the station, 1st in line for the front seat. We knew it was a gamble, because it was only an hour before closing, but we waited. It was about 10 pm when the rain stopped, we still thought we would just get those, "come back and get in the freeway entrance tomarrow" passes that they hand out, but to our suprise they opened the loading gates and we were in the "Front Row". Also, to our surprise there was no test run, they fired us off after an hour of pouring rain, I thought for sure we would get a rollback, but no such luck. It was the best way ever to get dried off after being rained on. :} They ran one more train after our's, and closed down for the night. TTD120, weren't you there that day?
First trip June 23rd
