Why Six Flags? Why not?
There is no hatred toward Six Flags. Any true enthusiast has absolutely no problem with Six Flags. Of course, there are those that prefer CP over SF, but not to the point of complaining to such an extent as this. Plain idiocy.
And for Jeff to say its the most ridiculous thing he's read in a while... well, that is saying an awful lot. And you know what? He's exactly right.

....based on it being Six Flags and not Cedar Point.
I'm sure there is a good size list of reasons to not like Six Flags, but that's based on their performance, not on the name attached to the park.

If you don't like seeing Six Flags on here, everyone should
pay their $12.00 a year to make it go away.
Right. I wasn't referring to the park experience so much as the fact that they are an amusement park, with some very good amusements.
When I'm irritated, I don't think very clearly... :)

Im getting my first trip to Six Flags Great Adventure in June and I absolutely cannot wait. I feel like some of the first-time posters here who ask us tons of questions about weather, etc...
Ironically, my trip perhaps is symbolic of where this discussion has gone. While I cant wait to go to SFGA, we're also spending equal time at Dorney Park.:)
Look at NASCAR. There are several sponsors that put millions of dollars in a race team to go to the track and race to win a race that the purse comes from their number one rival. If NASCAR teams were worried about this issue, it would be a very boring sport.
No Opinons ALLOWED!
Just Kidding, I see your guys point... I like other theme parks as well... like Universal Studios, Kennywood, and some others... I just thought since this is POINTbuzz the unoffical website that it would be more geared toward CEDAR POINT, it really isnt that big of deal that SIX FLAGS WASTED THEIR money again.
dj dont get irritated, its only a message board. if you really want to get irritated get married... hahaha, just kidding.

No, I'm not really irritated, I just used that as an excuse to explain my poor post, that's all. No worries.

I think your talking Sprint/Nextel cup paying Alltel and Cingular? well in that case when Wiston left those sponsors were locked in other wise other wireless sponsors are not allowed in the sport. in fact Cingular was bought out by AT & T there-for Cingular will be out of the Nextel cup after this year. So, They dont let their rivals in the sport.

Cingular will only be out if AT&T switches the name from Cingular. If they keep the name, they keep the sponsorship.
Although, I think he was referring to someone like Jeff Gordon (a Pepsi spokesman) winning the Coca-Cola 600. Which has ruffled feathers before when guys sponsored by soft-drink A, win a race sponsored by soft-drink B and refuse to drink B after the race. Its funny how touchy they are about the whole sponsorship thing.

Yeah, John, that is funny. I can see where they're coming from, but its just ridiculous. Thats why I miss the old days of INDY. You never knew what brand of milk it was, nor did we care.
Brandon
I'm amused that this has reached two pages. :)
Not to mention Indy requires you to actually drive, not just follow the next guys left fender all the way through every turn.

Very true, John. I went to the Indy 500 time trials back in... it was '96, I think. Anywho, the speed and sound is indescribable.

Corporate Sponsorship? NASCAR? The College Bowl Games.....
What's next? Corporate Sponsorship of Certain Rides in Cedar Point?
Like the Ford Top Thrill Dragster,
The Prudential Millennium Force
The Aflac Raptor
The Kellogg Mantis
The Best Buy Wicked Twister
Or we could Just have Donald Trump buy Cedar Point and everything would be called Trump!!
(end Silly post)
You mean like SRF, which is sponsored by Pepsi?
And I think Ford would be better suited to sponsoring a Giant Top Spin. All it does is roll over.
