Ryan's Back from the Point

so yeah I know this should be in "Trip Reports", but ehh...as a former employee, I thought I'd voice my 2 cents in this section. Anywho...

After stifling my road rage due to construction on the turnpike by 250 and state troopers at every bend, I went to the Point yesterday (Sunday May 25th). Arrived at 8:45am and completely forgot about "FastPass", etc....so stood impatiently at the gate inside with a 4yr old who was more docile than I. Once the poor guy moved the gates, I felt as if I was at the running of the bulls in Pamplona. Although not "nearly" as busy as I would expect for a holiday weekend, herds of people almost trampled me and the friends with children that I was accompanying.

I must say that it was a very slow day at the Point. We walked onto every ride without waiting, with the exception of Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster. Our longest wait was perhaps 1 hour?? If that. The ride ops were hilarious, warm and engaging. They were very willing to hold conversations and make new friends, which as a retail manager, I appreciate. Kudos to all of them...especially the Kamans Art Shoppe girl at Camp Snoopy, the Corkscrew crew and Maverick crew. Way to go!!

The silly adults got our faces painted, while the 4 year old refused. I challenged the girl's artistic skills as she attempted to paint a chicken on my face which led to a few park goers to compliment me and say, "Nice cock!".

Food-wise, we stopped at Happy Friar only. The garlic parmesan fries sounded amazing, but tasted repulsive. Who concocted this idea? Ugh!! Fried cheese on a stick for my arteries only.

We stopped into "Molly and Maverick" at the Golden Palace, as some of my friends perform in Live Shows...and the cast sounded very ill with sore throats. The volume and clarity was very rough, vocally speaking. Cute show and I highly recommend it. Go see it!! I definitely prefer a "plot based" show.

Sidenote and totally unrelated, but who rides Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon A.) in jeans and a long shirt or B.) when it is only perhaps 70 degrees? I don't get it.

The 4 yr old was tired by 3pm, after his almost 1/2 hour trip around on the Judy K- his obsession, so Mom & Dad took him back to Bay Point, while the rest of us stayed for another 3 hours and just walked around, looked at the Snoopy Boutique and searched for friends/employees.

Then headed to Margaritaville in hopes of booze. They don't open until June now, as opposed to their old schedule of all year. I was annoyed, but we headed towards Bay Point and stopped at the fairly new (2 years old??) Pizza Hut Italian Bistro for dollar drafts and salad bar.

It was a great time as usual and I am sunburnt and in pain. The end.
