Rules/Policy

I just have a question regarding the alcohol policy. If you're 21, are you allowed to drink? Do I have to worry about roomate conlifcts over issues like this? I tried looking back through my application but I couldn't seem to find anything about this issue.

No alcohol is allowed in Cedar Point Housing facilities. However, there is a party every night over at Louie's.

^Is that a new policy? Because when I lived in housing, anyone over 21 was allowed to have up to a certain amount of alcohol in their room.

Well, I'm not sure 99er. It was the policy back in 2002.

I lived in Housing in 2002 as well and back then you were allowed alcohol. The policy was something stupid like you were only allowed a certain amount of alcohol at a time, like only a 6 pack of beer. No hard liquor was allowed or up to a certain proof. It was weird but it was in place back then and its either the same or very similar now. Not sure where you got your info from then but maybe that person just didn't want you drinking:)

EDIT: I found some paper work on the subject, it was a max of 72 ounces of alcohol (or about a six pack).

I know the 72 oz rule was still there in 2005. Parties still happen and have all kinds of booze including the banned stuff. It's not that hard to get it in. The key is making sure everyone handles their consumption and doesn't cause any trouble. Once your on the CPPD's radar, or even worse the housing staff for being an jerk, idiot, and a loud drunk, they will keep a a close watch on you. And you don't want that for you or your roommates. Next thing you know they search the rooms, piss test everyone, and just pick on every possible thing. Keep in mind all it takes is a complaint call from your neighbors for noise. Which 95% of the time is the only time the cppd will knock on the door. The other 5% covers false fire alarms and crime.

I was reading through my stuff the other day and I remember reading the 72 ounce rule. I believe it's still in place.

If by some horrible situation you are to loud and your drinking a few brewskies whats gonna happen..are the police total dicks and issue everyone citations or do they just dump it out and say dont let it happen again?? or does the CP staff personell just come and say quiet down?

Just as with any situation in the real world with cops, it depends on what is happening and the attitude you give them. It can go as simple as a warning and they are gone to the cops arresting someone. Most of the time they will just take your Cedar Point ID, you will have to get it back the next morning from either your manager or Director and probably sign some sort of disciplinary action form. Like I said though, depends on the situation.

But as you say, if it is a simple noise complaint, it should go easy. Provided everyone that is drinking is 21, there is no alcohol in the room that is not permitted and the noise is not really out of control when they arrive. If even one person is under 21 AND drinking, you could be charged with providing to a minor or similar (regardless of if you did).

My manager has one rule, what you do in housing can affect your job in your department. He says follow the law, IF YOU'RE UNDER 21 DON'T DRINK. If you get caught drinking underage, you will be arrested, PERIOD. It's stupid to break the law and drink underage, so as my manager says, don't do it. Is it worth your job?

No drinking in cedars but there is a lot of smoking... not that kind

as of last fall during halloweekends they were still telling people the 6 rule. however it was that you could only have that much per room at a time I believe. don't know how they'd ever really go about verifying that though.
