Rules Regarding Backpacks & other items

Hey guys...just a quick question since I don't see anything on it anywhere else or as a part of Cedar Point's grooming guidelines

I was planning on on having a small backpack (like a basketball backpack or something similar) to carry things to/from my car to my ride platform like a water bottle, cell phone (I know they aren't allowed but I'd rather keep it on hand vs. in my car or sitting in my dorm), lunch, blue warm ups, ect. Does Cedar Point care if you have a small bag like this and are you allowed to have them and wear them when going on your break to eat, or even go around at the cafeteria & whatnot. I've never really went looking to see if anyone who worked at CP had one on in uniform or saw personal items on a ride platform.

Lastly, are any form of sunglasses acceptable, even going to CP off season a week or so ago, with overcast, I wish I had sunglasses, and knowing I'll be involved with it every day, I figured it'd be smart, but I would rather know ahead of time versus buying a nice pair & not being able to wear them

I had a few other items but I can't truly remember at the moment, I'll edit or post later if I remember, but thanks anyways for any help.

27 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!

Backpacks are okay and i encourage you to bring one. There are lockers at all ride locations to store them. As far as sunglasses go they cannot be mirrored. They aren't too strict on this but if it is obviously reflective or mirrored they are no good. I always just take my glasses off if a guest has a question just to make sure in case they are questionable.

Backpacks are acceptable when carrying things around the park. Pretty much every employee has a bag they bring with them to the park to carry their rain suit, lunch, etc. with them. When you get to your ride you will have a ride specific location somewhere to put your bag so that it's not out on the ride where guests can see it.

As far as sunglasses are concerned. YES! You want to have sunglasses. You will want them whenever it is sunny out. However, they cannot be mirrored in any way. Guests have to be able to see your eyes when you're wearing them. Also, you can only wear them in direct sunlight. So, seeing as you're going to be on corkscrew you won't be able to wear them on platform, just when going to Super or on break.

Hope this helps.

You won't always have the option of a locker. Many of the ride locations will have what they call a "dock box." Only the crew will be able to get to it, but it will be a jumble of everyone's things. Depending on how much you trust your crew and how visible the dock box is you may want to limit valuables in your bags.

The sunglasses depend mostly on the TL. Sups and managers will stop you if they see your mirrored sunglasses and most TL's won't let you keep them on because if you get caught they also get in trouble. You want to be approachable so they put restrictions on the sunglasses. They also can't be too big on your face. I've known a few girls who have been told to switch glasses because they were too big on their face.
