Maples never opened in 2025 and I don't believe it opened in 24 either. I'm not sure what came of the sale. The drawing showing how Rt 6 gets rerouted seems to show them maintaining driveway access to the motel.

According to their Facebook page, it looks like it was preparing to be open for Halloweekends (not sure if it did or not). It may be open in 2026.

I wouldn't stay there again, the owner double charged me for a stay, wouldn't refund me until I finally did a chargeback on my card.

I never saw any cars there during Halloweekends, but very interesting that Steve is working on getting it open again. I believe Maples owned all the land between the motel and the water, where Rt. 6 is being diverted to, so he presumably got a nice chunk of change for that without having to demolish the motel.

It would be nice to see the intersection of CP Drive and Rt. 6 get aesthetically enhanced with the new roundabout.

Roundabout construction has officially begun for Cedar Point Dr and Cleveland Rd. The old traffic light is gone with temporary ones set up.

Channel 5 out of Cleveland ran a story about the road construction.

And the naysayers all over FB have been quick to talk down on the project, as if improving traffic flow is the end of the world as we know it.

People hate change and everyone thinks they're a traffic engineer. The public comments ODOT collected proves they shouldn't listen to public comments.

Looking forward to the completion of The Landing, which will tie in nicely along the shores of the inner bay area.
