I'm easy going. Easy to get along with. I wanna meet a lot of people this summer. Will anyone room with me? Facebook me- Kyle Hickey from Centerville High School
PS: Ladies, I'm single ;)
Kyle, in case you didn't know...
Housing is gender segregated.
So no rooming with other single ladies. ;)

My name is Abbey and this is my first year working at Cedar Point. I'll be working as an admissions hostess and I'm processing in May 10th. I'm looking for a roommate...I would prefer to live on point since I don't have a car but I don't really know anything about either on or off point housing, so I'm not deadset on either one. I'm pretty laid back and not a neat freak or anything like that...but I do stay up late...and trust me, just cause I have to get up early for work doesn't mean I will go to bed any sooner, lol. My college roommate is in bed before 11 and I know it bugs her that I'm still up. But other than that, I'm easy to get along with...if want to know more or if you are interested in rooming with me, email me! My email is amwilson08@hotmail.com and my MSN is nightmareangel07@hotmail.com if you want to chat!

On point housing for women will be in Gold dorms, which typically open around the first week of June. Until then you'll have to live in Commons, but if you want to move make sure you jump at the opportunity as soon as Gold opens up or you might not be able to get a room right away. They are nicer than Cedars and much quieter than Commons at night. It is also right outside of the gate, next to wardrobe and the Park Ops time clock, so you can literally be in the park in about 45 seconds if you need to be.
The down side is that they are not air conditioned by default, you have to buy an air conditioner and pay I believe it is $50 to have it installed by maintenance. But the rooms are $16.80/wk vs. $33.20 for Commons dorms, so you can make up the difference. Gold rooms are also 2-3 person capacity vs. the 4 beds that are found in nearly all of the commons rooms.
Is that the same for cedars? Do they fill up quick?
I check in June 1st...will I be in luck do you think?

Well if your a first year then why say anything to him at all about it then?

Cedars usually has space available. It is probably 75% internationals, if not more, but there is almost always a bed available somewhere. Usually guys have just the opposite reaction of the girls. Girls usually start in Commons and decide to move to Gold because there is too much noise or too much drama in Commons. Guys think they'll start cheap and go to Cedars and end up moving to Commons after a day or two because there is nothing going on at Cedars in the evening and Cedars isn't in the best condition. As Cedar Point says, it's "summer camp style housing" at Cedars.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if I remember right, Gold doesn't have heat, which is part of the reason why it is only open June - August. I know the offices are heated, but I'm not sure that all of Cedars has heat either.
Nope, no heat in Golds.
Also, to those wanting to live on point...the on point dorms really aren't that bad. I lived in Golds my first year, because I didn't have a car/didn't want to take the bus all the time, and it was more convenient. It was nice only having 1 other roommate (although, I know there are some 3 people rooms). The rooms are a bit smaller than Commons, and you don't get a locker, plus the description of it being "rustic" is relatively accurate...but, I'd live there again. It's nice waking up a little bit before work and just walking.
Another note...if you're coming in May and want to live on point, start checking with housing around Memorial Day weekend about the opening day for Golds and Cedars. It varies yearly, but, it's usually right around then that they begin opening them. The on point dorms always have openings...I came in mid-June in 2006 and managed to get a completely empty room to hold for my friend and I. It's mostly Internationals who live in these dorms, and they usually start arriving around early-ish June.

I was originally supposed to come in march 30 but I am not driving so he told me to come on the 27th which is what you probably have to do since human resources are not open on the weekends.

HR is not open on weekends UNTIL the season starts. Once the season gets under way, every division becomes a 7 day a week operation. They still close at 5, but at least they are open on weekends if you need anything.
